Sure... but my larger point is we may not want to swan into the town they're from with all the stuff we robbed from their corpses on full display.

Yeah, makes sense. Doc is pretty handy with his butchering knife now, so he'll carve up what rations he can from the horse carcass and maybe save its hide for later sales?

There are three horses (including Rose's race-horse) milling around the area if any of you want to trade in your cast-iron steeds for flesh...

With that done, he'll retrieve the nearest horse and swap his saddlbags to it before Cumflutter can shoot it.
