Re: Sad news about Solitaire

What a terribly sad thread to discover on my first visit here in far too long. Todd was, as everyone on here has said, an excellent person who was always absolutely brimming with kindness, good advice and an inspiring amount of positivity. RIP, Soli, I'll certainly remember you with fondness.

Re: World Of Warships

My logic is that if I get really into it and enjoy the gameplay then I'll happily spend a bit of money if I feel I'd enjoy it more at higher tiers. Can't really complain at the entry price! :)

Re: World Of Warships

It's a game I've had a quick go on and would probably get into if I gave it more time. I like ships. Do you play it, then?

Re: The H.P. Lovecraft Reading Club

Without wanting to cop out, I have to say my thoughts echo what has been said. I find that I was lukewarm to this story as there's a lot of build up for little pay off. I find the narrator to be unbelievably stupid, but it comes across as less a facet of his character but more that HPL was trying to...

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

Well said, Tank.

As it happens, I've recently finished gathering the full Judge Dredd Mega Collection. Lots of hardback books to enjoy, admiring the fantastic artwork of 2000AD.

I need to know where to get that helmet...

Re: Baldur's gate 3 coming

D&D goes silly after level 6 in my opinion. Low level D&D is always the best as you have that balance between medieval combat still being effective and monsters and magic being scary.

Re: Total War: WARHAMMER 2: Curse of the Vampire Coast

I don't know therefore whether single, massively OP hero units in WHFB tend to be the pivot on which those battles turn. If so, then I would imagine that fans of the tabletop battles absolutely love the rendition into an animated war. For me though it didn't work. I am used to a General being the h...

I'm sure a few people here have experience with them, are they worth playing? I know they had a great reputation but do they still hold up?

Re: Currently Reading

I hope you bought The Cruel Sea, and not as I wrote late last night "The Cruel Seas" (although I don't think that's a thing). I hope also you enjoy it as much as I did!

As for the topic of the thread, I finished The Cruel Sea the other day. What a magnificent book it was. Thanks to The Jackal for the recommendation!

Re: Currently Reading

FINALLY! Finally I have finished Bloodstone by David Gemmell, and thus also finished the Jerusalem Man trilogy and the larger Stones of Power series that began (chronologically speaking, not in publication order) with Lion of Macedon . Well, my goodness, but that was an incredibly boring, utterly t...
