I like how he entirely absolves himself from blame, and in fairness to him, this does seem to be equipment failure that couldn't be anticipated, but from a non-American perspective, at some point you have to realise that a weapon capable of putting a metal slug through a god damn fire hydrant probably isn't something you should be playing with.
Also, after describing the incredible life-saving treatment he got, he still insists on putting it all down to god. No mate, it's every incredible medical professional that sliced you open and put you back together afterward and hundreds of years of scientific development. Maybe god is the one that overfilled that ridiculous bullet.
