The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
No problem chaps, not quite back to 100% anyway so the prospect of an evening on the sofa isn't too terrible

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Thanks for another fun session tonight WB
Could I just get some clarification on something for my level-up? I'm eyeing up the elven accuracy feat, which essentially lets me re-roll an attack die when I have advantage (once per turn).
So, my question really is this: when I'm attacking while stealthed, therefore doing so with advantage (?) does that mean I should be rolling two attacks and taking the higher result already? I'm not missing often but that would make a pretty big difference to my combat effectiveness. In which case, elven accuracy would seem to be very powerful.
Or does sneak-attacking negate my advantage roll, so I only roll to hit once? If so, how would that work with EA, could I re-roll and take the higher result, or would I be locked into taking the EA result?

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
As a rogue you get sneak attack damage whenever you have advantage on an attack, which (in most cases) is when you’re hidden or when there’s an ally next to the target. So for the vast majority of your attacks you should be rolling with advantage - i.e. roll twice and take the higher result.
Eleven Accuracy does apply to this, so you’d essentially get double-advantage once per turn (i.e. roll 3 dice and take the higher value). It’s definitely powerful, but because you’re already very likely to hit stuff its main benefit is increasing your odds of getting a crit.

Awesome, cheers! I'll definitely have to remember to roll with advantage in the future, as I've occasionally missed enemies with high AC, and I'll definitely be taking EA in that case. I don't think I've ever crit in combat thus far, come to think of it.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Just as an fyi, for some reason when I was adding Elven Accuracy, it wasn't increasing the ability score on my character sheet as it should, so I went onto the abilities tab instead to override it manually and increase my wisdom by +1.

If you crit with sneak attack, you get to double all the regular damage dice AND the sneak attack dice. Your bow momentarily becomes the Large Hadron Collider.
