All I'll say on the latter half of that session is that Sage was so very lucky that Ygorl attacked me before I had my turn, because I was absolutely going to just hold action and play you off against one another to see which of you made the better deal.
Dear god
See, as a Sorcerer, Charr has always had innate magical abilities which made him feel a little superior to most folk. He's just dealt a crippling blow to the Lord of Entropy who wasn't even his problem.

I think he's getting worryingly close to just assuming godhood. I think he's getting a bit cocky.

So, the effects of lichdom:

Requirements
- Once per week, a sentient soul must be consumed to sustain Sage’s lich form. A soul can be consumed by making a DC15 charisma check on a sentient creature that has died within the last hour.

- Up to 5 souls can be consumed in advance.

- For every week that he goes without consuming a soul, a level of exhaustion is gained. Consuming a soul restores one level of exhaustion.

- If maximum exhaustion is reached, he becomes a demilich.

Benefits
- Charisma now becomes 24.

- Sage’s unwavering thirst for secret knowledge means that once per day, he can cast the spell Legend Lore without expending a spell slot.

- As an action, can use Paralyzing Touch:

Paralyzing Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) cold damage. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

- Once per day, can use legendary resistance to succeed at a saving throw he would otherwise fail.

- If Sage dies, his soul returns to his phylactery and a new body is formed in 1d10 days.

Negatives
- If Sage’s phylactery is destroyed, he becomes mortal again.

- Constitution is reduced to 10.

- People do not react kindly to undead creatures in most situations. In his undisguised form, most people will treat him as hostile.

Slythe; stumble into him and steal his phylactery.

Ooh, that's pretty nicely balanced actually.

The soul consumption once per week might cause a few controversies though.

I probably won't be hiding it on my person for that exact reason.

Yes, you wouldn't want to tarnish the reputation of the Baby Murdering Undead Terror of Waterdeep.

I just assumed you’d take peasants on a magical mystery tour of your pocket dimension...

Well only the Unmentionables know about any of that, so our public perception is still that we're the heroes of Neverwinter, Phandalin, Gauntlgrym and Waterdeep. We're pretty much superheroes, like in The Boys.

Not quite sure how I manually edit my stats on DnD Beyond. It seems to not let you put a custom amount in over 20.

I’ll have a look in the morning - there is a way to override the maximum.

Yeah, there definitely is, as I said earlier tonight I was able to put my dex up to 22.

Well, the Unmentionables and the Paladin Order know about the first part. Would be a shame if someone were to tip them off about the second bit, I think Paladins have a thing about the undead.

Considering how trustworthy his allies have been for pretty much the entire campaign, I'm not sure that Sage will feel particularly inclined to tell them about his new powers.

I think that as a group we've reached the point now where we can pretty much do anything and people just shrug their shoulders. We saved the world so many times that they just tolerate us.
