Urgh. And I thought occasionally coming across a Brexit 50p when I'm giving out coin to someone at the bank was bad.

It's a very bizarre situation. I've never had to work on something I'm fundamentally opposed to. The fact that the whole thing is a flaming train wreck makes it 10X worse.

This is as good a thread as any, baldycunt Cummings has left Downing Street for good.
I've had a nagging feeling of familiarity about him since he reared his ugly weasel face in the first lockdown. Both the name and the way he looked. It clicked last night. Here's a picture of my old Rugby Team photo from Bow School (now Durham School) back when I was 11 in 1985 - there are some famous-ish pro cricketers in there amongst others and our least favourite person in politics.

I have no find memories of him, sketchy as they are.

So the UK and European Union have signed a trade deal. I think it's telling that my immediate thought was "oh god, what's he given away this time?"

Good luck, businesses. You have three working days to work out what this means for you.

After all that messing around and playing to the ERG nutjobs in his party, Johnson has signed off last minute on a deal which is worse than the one his predecessor agreed with the EU and which he rallied so hard against. All just so he could have his time in the limelight as PM. And no doubt he'll spin his arse off to make it sound like the best deal ever.

Better than a complete crash out, but just wait and see all the downsides to this.

Does anyone have a clue what the import / export duty situation is on goods from 1 January?

In the event of no deal, it's my understanding that standard import duties would apply, plus VAT if applicable.

Which in the case of importing to where I am, would be around 17% VAT, plus an 18 EUR handling fee. So on a 150 EUR purchase (e.g. a UK keyboard), I'd pay 150+ 25.5 + 18 = 193.50, or 43.50 in charges! :o

I'm not too keen on that idea. But annoyingly, all the resources and research sites I use are based on UK services, and I don't really have trusted EU websites for reviews and the like that I would use for many purchases. ugh....

So another 20 million people will be covered under tier 4 from midnight, and you have to wonder what the point of not calling this another national lockdown is when you look at the map.

No surprise there; I think most of the people I've asked in the last few weeks have expected another full lockdown soon after christmas, and this is pretty close.

So Johnson's gone to Scotland against various advice to ease tensions over another Scottish independence referendum, and has said that it's irrelevant to most Scots.

If there's one thing people love, it's being told what they think by the scumbag they didn't want to turn up on their doorstep in the first place. ](*,)

"Irrelevant to most Scots" therefore he must disregard his own rules to make the journey.

Under the Tories the union has a very real chance of cracking into pieces. As if being the Edwin who presided over Brexit and the utter car-crash of the Covid pandemic was not enough. Got to say, no wonder the rancid little shit-smear has scuttled North...
