I believe you have to be an existing subscriber for this to work.

If you already are Mantis get on the horn to Microsoft CS and see if they can sort it before waving goodbye to £20.
I suspect it may be because I'm only subbed as a Game Pass PC account and not the Ultimate one. Or it just glitched out and didn't load the conversion notification when I pasted my code in.

I haven't chased it up yet.

Microsoft online chat is surprisingly good. As I suspected, it was because I'm only subbed to PC Game Pass at the moment. It didn't occur to me that redeeming the code might not automatically convert me to Ultimate, to be honest I couldn't even remember which one I was paying for at the time.

The good news is that if you upgrade your subscription to Ultimate then any EA Play subs sat on your account automatically convert. So I paid up for the month and now it's kicked in and given me Ultimate until October.

superb collection

Stalker 2, Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, Starfield, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Back 4 Blood and Shredders alone justify the sub let alone all the other.

I don't care what people say, GamePass is a great idea. I hope Sony double their sub and add day 1 to PS Now. I would pay for both.
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4

As someone who was very cynical and suspicious of GamePass... I wholeheartedly agree. Regardless of how it may mutate in the future, it stands right now as a bastion of value for gamers. It's bringing people to Xbox, and rightly so - why shouldn't it? Everything MS are doing with Xbox seems to be a loss-leader, so I have no idea how they're making money from it, but as a consumer I can't argue with what they're offering.

I suppose those who are cynical of it are probably concerned more so with what Microsoft plan to do with it once they've captured a significant enough market share. It does seem far too good to be true that it will continue to stay at this price point forever as the value we get from it right now is currently absolutely insane, particularly when there are so many little deals you can do to reduce the subscription costs even more.

Ultimate subscribers now have access to Netflix style streaming, ala Stadia and PS Now.

Xbox.com/play supports all Xbox games with cross save on quite a few devices (tablets etc.) plus on browsers like Chrome, Safari and Edge.

I just had a play on Sea of Thieves on Chrome and the latency is not all that noticeable at all. Even less of an issue if you're more into slower paced games.

I mainly use Game Pass for the PC games, but having access to some of the Xbox exclusive titles via streaming is a very nice bonus. Also, Sea of Thieves loads quicker on my browser than it does on my PC. -_-

I played a hour of ESO earlier today and it was super smooth, the only real issue I had was the image quality wasn't as good as it would be on PC especially when switching your view from side to side quickly, there would be a noticeable lag in the full textures popping in for some of the scenery. Still I was pretty impressed as it meant I could do one of the Xbox Reward quests without having to download 168gbs of data. :D

GamePass via Browser play now in Beta. Supports Edge, Chrome and Safari

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/play

Colour me pink, it works a treat. Plug in your Xbox controller to your PC, log into GamePass on your browser and you can play games via the internet. It plays more 720 than 1080 but this is pretty amazing especially if you go travelling.

Microsoft are in the process of upgrading their server blades from Xbox One hardware to Series X so depending on the game you are going to get differing graphical experiences.
