Is this not already out, or have I been seeing people review a bootleg?

I think we're getting it a day later than in the states. It's available as of this morning on Amazon UK.

I didn't know it was a weekly :(

Edit: OK, I really enjoyed that. I think it's different enough from discovery, if you didn't like that to give it a try.

Edit: OK, mincing on it a bit more I bloody love it and want the rest of the series right now.

Same! Though I was disappointed that there wasn't a Wesley Crusher cameo ¬_¬

Yep, I went in with no expectations and enjoyed every minute of it. Patrick Stewart is a magnificent actor.

High praise there guys, colour me interested.

I may leave it a few weeks though as I hate waiting so long between episodes now and prefer to binge watch things over a week or two if I can.

It almost lost me at painful exposition dump interview but really enjoyed the rest!

I love number 1!

That interview would've been much worse if it wasn't for Patrick stewarts acting.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with the first episode. I'm still remaining cautious with my optimism, but it wasn't Star Wars with pointy ears.

It's remaining at least partially reverential to the source material; Bruce Maddox was the antagonist from TNG episode Measure of a Man, the episode where Data had to prove his sentience, which was both a fan-favourite episode and actually relevant to reference in context (so better than most of the Star Wars fan service).

Yeah, that was revealed in one of the trailers months ago. I was kinda expecting it to be a blink and miss it detail, but it was weirdly prominent given the obvious jokey nature and relative seriousness of the franchise.

Not a bad episode by any means, but not as interesting as the first. I'm sorta liking the slightly over the top nature of the villains; it's sticking to the camp nature of their appearances in TNG while still feeling reasonably modern.

It’s a good job he picks his house guests by their knowledge of not only secret but super secret police.

Just watched the first couple of episodes. Initial impressions: very positive. I did chuckle a bit at poor old Patrick Stewart being forced to run and it's hard to ignore how bloody old he is now, but the plot has intrigued me and the production values are impressively high. Feels a lot better than Discovery.

It does feel impressively made but weirdly I feel the worst actor in it is Patrick Stewart. I'm trying to convince myself that he's playing a weak sillt character until he suddenly 'finds' himself again but it's been 4 episodes now and he's getting worse.

No spoilers but the last episode they went under cover... it was so cringe.

And why was there the F bomb again? It's doesn't make the show adult! Plus it was a bit of a shock as I've started watching it with my son..

I've started watching the Expanse on Amazon Prime, now that's a tv show for adult brains. Really enjoying it.
