So little actual gameplay in any of those announcements and mostly for 2020 stuff.

Bethesda's pitch so far is so shit. They have actual Bethesda-shirted staffers on the front row, WOOOO'ing and standing-ovation'ing every damn thing. There's no gameplay shown for ESO but there is for Commander Keen. Who knows how this will continue, I've got to go to bed,.

Microsoft event was meh, only Cyberpunk 2077 was interesting but that was just cgi and no new footage. I agree with Mantis that it was just all CGI mostly and wondering how people are getting hyped about it.

Bethesda event was just massive cringe throughout. Doom looks so so to be honest and probably ruined the hype by showing off maybe all the stuff in it imo.

Devolver why did you think with that event it was good. Tried to be way too funny but at least it was over fast, yikes. Carrion looked like a quick pick up and play game though.

Highlighting it in the conference possibly but I think it would have been something they were aiming for anyway.

I thought the conference was pretty good, Game Pass continues to be an amazing deal and one that I feel the media don't give Microsoft enough credit for. There wasn't a lot of new stuff but it's the end of a cycle and Microsoft can't help it if no third parties are really making any new games.

I read that as well, but there is no way you can get that from the stuff they have shown and it feels like PR guff that they have fed the press. God of War is the most recent example of a game that took the deliberate combat of From games and managed to make it work, Fallen Order doesn't look anywhere near as good as God of War in that respect.

Interview with Miyazaki about Elden Ring, sounds very much like they are making an open world Dark Souls which I am very on board with.

PC Gamer show starts at 6pm tonight, expect some angry over Epic Store exclusives then we have Ubisoft at 9pm. AMD also have an event at 11pm when they could announce Navi pricing.

One day, the PC Gaming Show will not be awkward, stilted, and it'll look well-rehearsed. Not this year though. Featuring so far;

-Sponsorship from Epic Games Store. Because if it's PC game related and you can stick a currency symbol in there somewhere, it's going to be connected to EGS!
-The first in-engine footage from Vampire: The Masquerade 2, but it'll be happening on a video wall in the background while we look at the developers talking!
-Someone from Samsung talking about a new monitor, that most exciting of peripheral. "Is it 4k?" someone from the audience asks; not at this price point! Thrilling!

You're really not missing much. The *one* announcement so far that I was interested in was Terraria, and the trailer for the latest Terraria update crashed, and rather than go back and finish it, they just cut to the next item. Even the Borderlands 3 stuff didn't seem to be done correctly; the developer came on to talk about one of the new vault hunters, and the way it was introduced suggested we'd be getting some footage of said vault hunter, but nothing came from it. He answered some very basic questions with non-committal answers and then they moved on to an ad for a chair.

It's incredibly amateurish compared to the Microsoft one, and while there presumably hasn't been anywhere near as much money spent on it, it remains something of an embarrassment.
