Listened to the Dunsmuir link thinking "Bugger me this sounds like Clutch" before googling them and seeing that they are indeed fronted by Neil Fallon

yep Neil Fallon does have a couple of side projects going on, check out The Company Band for another.
Stone Gods meanwhile are The Darkness without Justin Hawkins.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Yeah they didn't do it for me (although add Justin Hawkins and I would possibly have vomited blood )

This might be a little too tame for the hardcore metal fans on here, but I'm super impressed with this album so I had to post it somewhere.
Ebonivory — The Long Dream I
Here's one of my favourites tracks (so far, I've only known of the band for a couple days!):

I liked bits of it, but I did struggle a little with the guy's voice
Are you a fan of Anathema?

I forgot Anathema were still a thing. My mate got hold of a press pass and we went in and "interviewed" the band before a gig about 12 years ago. We got up to some mischief with that thing
Re: \m/ Metal \m/
Haha awesome.
Not sure why but that reminds me, my gigging buddy Andy and I whenever we go out to a gig (not for a while now ) always seem to run into Aaron Eady, the guitarist for Paradise Lost. We started out bumping into him at the last UK gig that Ghost Brigade played, and ended up sitting getting very drunk with him and the guys from Ghost Brigade after the gig. That started the run, we must have met him at least a dozen times since and the three of us are now on first name terms, actively looking out for one another at gigs because we always seem to be at the same ones

New Avatar album.
Wasn't quite sure about these guys the first time I heard them but they finally clicked and I can't get enough of them now. They look excellent live too.

Only had a single listen, they have something certainly but I will need to give them a bit more eartime to see if I like them.
Maybe late to the party (it is hardly uncommon for me) but came across this guy the other day, who has built an industrial rig to create industrial music. Different for sure!

Cool story - first a little background - my buddy Nick and I went out drinking a while back. Nick and I are both big fans of Devin, and Nick came back to mine after the pub where I showed him some of the merch I own, signed shit, that kinda thing. Before settling in to an appallingly bad (according to my wife - I believe her) session of drunken guitar playing, Nick managed to accidentally snap a silicone wristband I had had since the 2011 Like A Thread gigs. He has since fixed it with epoxy.
Along with the merch and guitar-torture, he also saw my first edition of Dev's book and asked if he could read it. Knowing how pissed he was, I said yes but that I would bring the book to him when we werre both sober and he wasn't going to have to walk home along a canal bank - which I duly did the following day. Unknown to both of us, the dust jacket of the book is made of some bizarre material that, when exposed to water, shrinks exponentially. While reading it he got a drop of water on the dust jacket which has damaged the aesthetics of the book. He called me up absolutely devastated that he had now damaged two different and irreplaceable items - I told him not to worry about it, shit happens and they are only stuff.
Last night Nick calls me to see if he can come over, saying he has something for me. Sure says me, always welcome for a beer any time. He pops round, we crack open some beers, and he connects his phone to my TV and this comes up...
I was absolutely blown away

That is pretty awesome. I didn't realise that he was even still doing things like that for people.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/
After watching the video Nick accidentally dropped his beer onto a power strip which promptly short circuited, burst into flames and burnt the entire house down....
That is amazingly cool Snowy, I have even more respect for Devy now. Your mate is also pretty cool as well despite his destructive nature
