Re: Flight Simulator 2020
I'm not sure you can really fault them for not including many local landmarks in a flight simulator that covers the entirety of planet Earth. I think what they ought to do is open up the game to enthusiasts who can model said landmarks for submission (and checking). There's no way that a single tea...

Re: Flight Simulator 2020
Yeah, mine had clocked up about 5 hours by the time I could actually play it. I’ve seen comments that you can’t even install on a drive other than C:\ either, which is really shoddy. Teething problems for something this big and complex were inevitable, but these were avoidable issues. You can insta...

Re: Flight Simulator 2020
I have the gear and I’m intrigued by the streaming scenery so I’m going to have a look. I’m guessing I’ll do my normal mess around for a few days then return to DCS though. At least this time I won’t have spent eye watering quantities of cash on scenery though...

Re: Elite: Dangerous [PC, PS4, XBone]
The throttle is much better, and I never had any issues with mine (other than the fact that the TDC slew control, the analogue stick on the grip, is a bit crap, but that's the same on every unit). The Deltasim slew upgrade is well worth doing on the Warthog Throttle. The kit replaces the horrible O...

Re: The Covid-19 thread
I work in NHS laboratory and we’ve had quite a few people off with colds that have led to chest infections since December. It does make you wonder.

Re: The Covid-19 thread
same here - my gf is a primary school teacher and she is utterly baffled on the govt advice for office workers to stay at home while kids congregate ? I think the plan to stretch it as long as they can to the Easter break and than schools will have an extra holiday, maybe 3 weeks. This sums it up n...

Re: Half-Life: Alyx [VR] - March 2020
That video makes me feel sick just watching it on the tablet... I have a DK2, I used it quite a bit at first but then I’ve gradually given it up. It’s very immersive for sim racing but I found it hard to accept the loss of gfx detail and had fatigue, nausea and comfort issues so eventually ret...

Re: The F1 thread
Pirelli are testing the 2021 low profile 18 inch wheels & tyres. Looks good I think, contemporary :-k Although I do think the black wheel and tyre possibly disguises the change somewhat. Not a particular fan of Sirotkin but it’s always good to see drivers who haven’t managed to secure a race seat st...

Re: The F1 thread
Tbh I couldn’t believe it when he just instantly pulled back onto the track. My first thought was it deserved a ban... then Lance did exactly the same thing... Bizarre. They seem to talk almost constantly to the pit wall, the pit wall have GPS driver tracking available, they use it to plan pit stops...

Re: The F1 thread
Well, so much for Charles being behaved. The cynic in me thinks that if he weren't driving a Ferrari at Monza, he'd have had more than one penalty at that race. Forcing Hamilton off the track and later cutting a chicane were both very much on the edge of acceptable. I was surprised at how quickly a...

Re: The F1 thread
From the radio transcripts it appears Leclerc was supposed to tow Vettel but ignored the order. Vettel kept asking the pit wall to tell Leclerc to get on with it but he never did... So is Charlie de facto team lead at Ferrari now? I wonder what this will do to the relationship between them? Dry for ...

Re: The F1 thread
Heh, people ask for unpredictability and there it is... It was ridiculous but most were looking for a tow as they already had a decent banker in. Ferrari had Leclerc on pole, Merc had Ham on the front row. FOM will use this debacle as leverage to try a qualifying race here next year. I think it also...

Re: The F1 thread
I think he means that Max's steering was broken but he still accelerated up the hill. It was notable given that we'd seen a deadly accident there just a few hours before. Max surely knew the damage was there as everything would have felt wrong. Yeah. I can’t find a replay but he seemed to be on ful...

Re: The F1 thread
I’m not sure they can extend the run off at Raidillon much, I suspect the terrain falls away to the right. I do question if the changes made to Eau Rouge, the straightening and adding tarmac run off to the left, have made it safer. In the past the drivers approached it with respect, now its viewed a...
