Re: Currently Reading
I'd fallen off reading for a long time. I had an OG Kindle which I used a lot ~15 years ago but it had no built in light so wasn't much use in bed. We went to Spain in May and I thought I'd treat myself to a new Kindle (with a built in light, no less!) and haven't stopped reading since! I've read 14...

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion
Yeah you can switch between "quality" which is supposedly locked at 30fps and is just as bad as the 30fps mode on the big consoles. Performance mode offers 40fps but feels a lot smoother and there is zero noticeable difference in visuals between the two modes. You can also turn HDR on or off. I play...

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion
Tried out Witcher 3, which I bought on sale for the original Switch ages ago, mostly out of amazement that it would run at all. The difference on Switch 2 is astounding - not quite Series S quality, but it looks great at a locked 30fps and is no longer the blurry, laggy splotch that Switch 1 provid...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
We started watching FROM last week and are already halfway through season two. Really enjoying it so far. Shades of Lost and The Leftovers, which are probably my two all time favourite shows, but this is becoming a contender if it stays strong.

Re: General Gaming News
One of my favourite parts of that game was rebuilding the roads to make deliveries between the big depots really easy. It was so satisfying getting a truck and just loading it to max with deliveries along the route. Also building a comprehensive zip line network through the snowy mountain areas - es...

Re: Currently Playing
I started playing No More Heroes on Switch last night. Not played it before and it seems pretty fun so far. I also started Sifu on Xbox which seems cool too, only beaten the first boss so far though. I hardly get much time to play these days, it used to be after the kids had gone to bed but now they...

Re: Elden Ring
I'm about 70 hours in to this, around level 75 and mainly put most my points in to Dex and Endurance. Trying to level up intelligence now through just to access a few spells. But man, this game is incredible. Every time I go on I'm finding new stuff, even in areas I thought I'd totally cleared. I've...
Re: Disney +
One of my all time favorite comic series, but after Preacher and The Boys, which were OK but not amazing, I'm not overly convinced. Quietly hopeful, though.

Re: A great big thread about comics
Sounds interesting, never read much horror stuff outside of Alan Moore's Lovecraftian books. I'm currently making my way through the Batman No Man's Land saga - there's a lot of reading, over 100 issues! Also still keeping up with American Gods, which is almost wrapped up now. I'm also dipping in an...

2008 was the original version, but it got fully remade and commercially released in 2012.The Jackal wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 10:39 pmI thought Spelunky came out far before 2010 (whenever they're starting this "decade").

Re: EDGE 339 - Christmas 2019
That's a fairly dreadful list for games of the decade. I wonder what their criteria for selection was.

Re: Welcome to Blade Runner month !
Is it really Blade Runner month, as in that's actually a thing? I've been meaning to rewatch it for months now before watching the new(ish!) one, which I still haven't got round to seeing. Seems like a good time!
