Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

Can't argue with that. I think letting the Tories implode over it was the absolute right thing to do for pretty much the whole of the last two years, because frankly there was very little Labour could do to stop them and why draw attention to themselves when the Tories are having a very public inter...

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

A combination of damage already done to his credibility long ago by a concerted smear campaign and the fact that any signs of opposition that Labour put up against the Tories is spun by the government as them trying to frustrate or, shock, cancel Brexit. May has made such a hash of pretty much every...

Re: Digital Distributions Deals - Everything that's not Steam

Don't get it if you're planning on playing the multiplayer, from what I've gathered it's full of hackers. Other than being forced through the Microsoft Store and using their UWP platform I don't think there are many other differences between the PC and console versions. It supports mouse and keyboar...

Re: Planetside Arena

So you buy the pass just to access the 'free' tier and then there is another paid tier on top of that which requires more money?

This is not clear at all.

Re: Blizzard is paying the price for being in bed with Activision

It's seen a fair few changes and overhauls over the last couple of years but is still the same game at its core. I just like it because of how it makes use of all their IP. I wonder what exactly are Blizzard developing when they say they have so many unannounced projects. They haven't released anyth...

Re: Blizzard is paying the price for being in bed with Activision

Heroes of the Storm esports events cancelled for 2019, development team being downsized to effectively maintenance mode. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-12-14-blizzard-downsizes-heroes-of-the-storm-team-cancels-esports-plans Clearly wasn't making enough money for the tastes of that new finan...

Re: Planetside Arena

But it literally says right there that you unlock the weapon blueprints via the free path? That reads to me that you can pay for the pass each season and get the cosmetics whilst everyone has access to the free version with the weapons blueprints. I'm not sure what else it could possibly mean by 'fr...

Re: Planetside Arena

Are you sure about this? From the article: The paid track of the battle pass, on the other hand, contains flashy cosmetics only. That would imply no pay-to-win mechanics, right? I'm feeling a bit lazy to read through and fully figure it out myself, but suffice to say that I won't be playing any game...

Re: Modern gaming business practices

I don't think ads really have a place in many things, they've certainly never influenced me in any way other than being annoyed by them; but these ones do look particularly naff. Some of the characters literally have the Pro League logo plastered all over their clothes and just look utterly stupid. ...

I'd totally forgotten that they even had their own client. Fallout 76 on PC is restricted to it as well isn't it? They can go do one if they think I will ever download their distribution software. I'm not against having multiple clients, such is life nowadays, but their absolute catastrophe of leaki...

That's still 37% of her own party who don't think she's fit to be PM. Take out those on Government payroll who have a vested interest to have backed her and she is in big trouble.

I didn't really enjoy the previous games because I'm not so keen on the first person dungeon crawler genre. This, however, looks excellent.

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

While we wait on the result, amusing Tweet from Dominic Raab; that's the former Brexit Secretary who didn't know that Dover is a vital trading port. https://twitter.com/DominicRaab/status/1072744754096549888 Seems to think the graph is something worth boasting about when it quite adequately shows th...

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

May has told the 22 she won’t fight the next election. Ministers crying in the room Do you think they shed tears over Grenfell, or the fact that the UN considers our poverty levels and failing NHS a humanitarian crisis, or the widespread misery inflicted on disabled people over the last eight years...
