Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I used to love that as a kid. Haven't sought it out as an adult as I wasn't sure if it would still hold up, but reading that may give it a go now on Prime.

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

He just left you hanging there? Unforgivable. He's really went down in my estimations after that. I always thought he'd be the kind of guy to slip a homey some no questions asked skin when called upon. Oh, it was definitely a moment of comedy rather than a genuine snub, not to mention the fact I wa...

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

:(

My one first-hand experience of him was him giving me a look of utter disdain when I tried to get him to give me a high-five during a particularly raucous performance of the Rocky Horror Show at Bath Theatre (done for laughs and totally in keeping with the occasion)

Re: Xbox Game Pass for PC

I think given my experience so far with Outer Worlds and Phoenix Point, the best thing about Game Pass so far is that for the cost of £2 it's saved me about £60 on games I'd have likely bought. Not bad games, but equally having played them, games I'd have felt a bit gipped at paying full whack...

Re: Phoenix Point - new tactical strategy from original XCOM devs

I've put a bit more time into it, 5 or 6 hours maybe, up the point of recruiting about a dozen soldiers to my team, have covered most of Asia and Russia on the Geoscape, and it's... ok, I guess? Almost everything feels a bit uninspired, from the lack of music, the small, cookie-cutter tactical maps,...

Fun little game, that. Short but for under a pound it's well worth it.

Re: Phoenix Point - new tactical strategy from original XCOM devs

I've played maybe an hour, completing the tutorial involving the first few missions. And I'm not sure if I like it. Compared to how slick XCOM2 is it feels like I'm playing a budget title. I may put some more time into it (though Arqueturus' post above puts me off somewhat), but definitely not somet...

Re: The Outer Worlds - PC, PS4, X1, Switch 2019

And finished. Overall, I liked it, but it's not the amazing game I'd hoped it would be when the trailers and previews were coming out. I think I'd be closer to Rusty in terms of the pacing. I really enjoyed the first world, then you arrive on Monarch and it's feels a bit like more of the same, only ...

Norsemen

Yeah this is good. I'd almost call it a mixture of Blackadder and The Office via Vikings.

Exactly!

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Yeah, agree with that. It's an interesting one, but DFWC is a lot more gripping. It might differ if you know anything about American Football, though, which I don't. I'd never heard of the guy before.

High praise there guys, colour me interested.

I may leave it a few weeks though as I hate waiting so long between episodes now and prefer to binge watch things over a week or two if I can.
