Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Gainsborough dutifully prepares breakfast and departs in the middle of the night. :)

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Maybe Charr has made everyone breakfast, like in Family Guy Star Wars where Biggs is making sandwiches for everyone when they get back from blowing up the death star.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

As the messenger in the dream, you would be able to see everything going on within it. So as Beniago is led (petrified) to the safe and the ghostly form of Marie-Anne beckons for him to unlock it, you see him do so with shaking hands: right 38, left 44, right 17. The bolt clunks, but before he opens...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Depends if Sage casts Dream on you. ;)

Speaking of which, Sage - what manner of nightmare fuel would you like to deploy in shaping Beniago's dream?

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Slythe - the fence takes your money, and without saying anything he goes and locks the entrance. He then slowly and methodically counts the money, still silent. When he is satisfied that all the gold is there, he removes a floorboard from behind the counter, reaches into a nook and retrieves a black...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Yep, nicely done. The incident with the guard being rendered unconscious could have got a bit hairy had it failed, but otherwise pretty smooth! Slythe, assuming you enquire about mastercrafted lockpicks, Clara knows of a 24 hour fence (basically every shop in Luskan is a fence) that sells exceptiona...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I rolled wisdom saving throws for all 12 of them and not a single one succeeded. :o Twelve pirates grab their cutlasses and rapiers and run out the door shouting and hollering anti-establisment sentiments in a highly piratical manner. The remaining three go back to sleep. You head outside and see th...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

You manage it without issue - security is not tight in the fort and with your token on show nobody pays you much attention. There is a group of pirates in a barracks grouped together, maybe 15, some drinking and gambling, others sleeping.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Oh the distraction will lure the guards away. Wrath, is there likely to be any decent sized crowds of people anywhere near the entrance to the fort? I disguised as an old pirate and went to the closest bar I could find when Slythe and I parted ways. Not exactly - there would presumably be a large n...

Okay, so you stay in the shadows until the hour is up.

Over to you, Sage.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

The good news is that there's nobody on the way to the entrance to inconvenience you. The bad news is that the entrance portcullis is closed with the two guards you fake-vomited on still posted outside.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

You've never tried a lock so complex, and despite your best efforts you find yourself unable to get it open, though you're sure you were close. You don't like to blame your tools, but you think the only thing that will get through this lock is a set of mastercrafted picks.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

About 45 minutes, I'd say.

The chest is easy to find as they're stacked on shelves and clearly marked with numbered plaques. The locks look very tricky in your professional opinion.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

You stumble into him with a discrete headbutt that slams his head into the portcullis with a sickening bang, and he slumps unconscious to the ground.
