Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Oh man, that sounds rough. :( No worries on tomorrow - I'm away the next couple of weeks so hopefully we'll all be fighting fit for August.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

Now all I can think about is how much spittle other people have probably sent my way over the years. :?

Yet again, never leaving the house becomes ever more appealing.

Re: Skyrim Composer and Night in the Woods Dev Accused of Rape

It could be that the games industry is more of a breeding ground for this kind of stuff due to the high ratio of men to women and I would think it is probably the same for any other industries with a similar ratio Not necessarily. Maybe I'm also lucky, but my software development office is about 80...

The showrunner, incidentally, is one of the producers from Rick and Morty, which is high-concept sci-fi comedy done right, so it may well turn out to be decent.
This is my hope. The trailer has a feel of a less-edgy Rick and Morty, which might not be a terrible thing.

Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!

When you do something that feels like you're Hollywood's idea of a hacker. My work laptop is goosed from a Windows update, and though the replacement is arriving today I need the licence key for some very expensive software that is required for some urgent work, and nobody can find the key. Google s...

Re: Skyrim Composer and Night in the Woods Dev Accused of Rape

Yep. The letter makes valid points, but Rowling's assocation with it changes the perception of its message. Free thinking should not be stymied by the fear of reprisal, nor should ignorance go unchallenged, and unfortunately Rowling seems to think those two ideas are mutually exclusive when it comes...

Re: Skyrim Composer and Night in the Woods Dev Accused of Rape

 No, it's more that she's pissed off a lot of various groups of people over the years with her comments (most recently trans people), and now she's barrelling into the debate around cancel culture which will inevitably make it all about her. She hasn't even been 'cancelled', really. People freq...

Re: Skyrim Composer and Night in the Woods Dev Accused of Rape

Looks like any reasoned or nuanced public discussion of cancel culture has gone out the window now that JK Rowling has waded into the debate with her personal brand of BS. #-o

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Seems we're all going through the motions a bit lately. Stay happy and look after yourselves guys. Trust me, I've been going through the motions with basically everything since March! Last week was just a mess with work, but touchwood things are looking up a bit. How we looking for this week? Would...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

I'm sure most people have that one friend who acts as the fun police and makes it their job on a night out to ensure and enforce that everyone has their idea of fun. If I want to mope quietly and contentedly in a corner until I can justifiably scuttle home without being spotted leaving, nobody will ...

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

RIP Ennio Morricone. :(

Other than John Williams, I can't think of another composer who has created such iconic film scores.
