Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit

Are they intended for circulation, or are they limited run coins intended for collectors to waste money on and then hand down to their grandchildren, who couldn’t give a shit and will throw it in a drawer? Also I can’t decide if Javid’s expression in that photo is tearful hysteria or mid-dump strains.

Yep, I went in with no expectations and enjoyed every minute of it. Patrick Stewart is a magnificent actor.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Not sure I'll have chance to do a proper write-up of the session for a day or two, so I'll do a quick summary before details start to elude me: - In the street, the party was confronted by Sir Chalfont Giles, Slythe's nemesis from his days back in Waterdeep who he had robbed blind and ruined before ...

That's a huge loss. :( One less Python in the world makes it a duller place.

You can hide for years,
You can run for the hills,
But you cannot escape
From Sir Chalfont Giles!

(is something he might say in a flamboyant gnomish accent).

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Incidentally, I like the fact that character backstories are sneaking in here and there now. Yeah, I've been wanting to tie events to the characters a bit more and this seemed like a good opportunity to introduce some of that. On a related note, Charr's past is very enigmatic - i.e. I know nothing ...

Those guards had one day left till retirement.

Although since the first one lost all worldly possessions, his retirement fund wouldn’t have got him very far.

Might be a couple of minutes late, having to do a last minute restart.

EDIT - And a router restart. Won't be long!

It'd be off-theme if everyone in the Wild West was friendly and pleasant to each other all the time.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Annual reviews. Just had mine, and as always it was a pointless formality for the sake of HR. My manager and I are both very much of the view that if I have something I want to raise with the company, or if the company wants to raise something with me, we'll discuss it as and when that happens. I de...

Gahh! :( Back to Xena, I guess. EDIT: Although, I could get the film adaptation... :-k https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hexer-Andrzej-Chyra/dp/B075T8SRPW/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=the+hexer&qid=1579532849&sr=8-1 The first review suggests it may be a painful endeavour: The Hexer, is a 2001 polish fantasy film base...

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

He was certainly highly protective of the works, which is understandable given pretty much his entire life from childhood was dedicated to them. I only really got a sense of how much input he had in The Hobbit and LOTR after reading Tolkien's letters, and while it would be a huge stretch to call him...

Christopher Tolkien.

Genuinely saddened by this. He was every bit as remarkable as his father and his contributions and development of Tolkien's work cannot be overstated.

RIP. :(
