Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

It's hard to lead when most of the major players in your party are aiding the media in slandering you and perpetuating a toxic narrative about how you're not a good leader.

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

It’s funny that everyone seems to say Corbyn wants Brexit when in fact he voted Remain. He may have no great love for the EU, but the line that he’s pro-Brexit is yet another falsehood on the heap.

Re: Daily forum quiz thread

I'm referring to this month as The Calamity. Probably the worst month of quizzing I've had. :(

Re: Pathfinder: Kingmaker - out now

The patches have helped and it now mostly resembles something that works more than it breaks.

Re: Pathfinder: Kingmaker - out now

I'm doing it a disservice, but I needed to vent after those final few hours! The bulk of the game is highly engaging and fun (for me, at least), and it's one of the few games I've ever played that genuinely makes you feel like a leader desperately trying to hold his lands together. It's a true epic ...

Re: Pathfinder: Kingmaker - out now

After 92 hours spread over several months, I’ve finally finished this. It’s a brilliant game - one of my favourites of the last few years - that at times is an infuriating pain in the arse. I’m going to detail its flaws so that anyone interested can decide if they’re too much to put up with. If you ...

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46824125 I'm so jaded by the entire Brexit process that I'm not even sure I care who would win a general election right now. Or rather, I think the British public are insane enough to vote the Tories in yet again and I don't want to invest any hope in the alter...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Hush was fantastic, and the story behind it is great too. Apparently Joss Whedon read somewhere that Buffy was only successful because of the dialogue, and so he decided to disprove that by creating an episode with almost no dialogue. Suffice it to say, it worked!

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I watched all of Buffy for the first time last year, and it's ridiculously good for a lot of it. As Sly says, there are low points but the high points more than made up for it for me. Angel I need to persevere with, as I drifted away after season 1. Buffy, though... the impact of some of the episode...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Xena: Warrior Princess Never watched it when it was on TV, so I thought why not give it a go now and pretend it's 1995. After all, trash fantasy is my thing. And Christ almighty, it's terrible. Even for the time, the production values are rock bottom, but it's got heart to it and I love it. T...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

The prequels showed us what happens when you let powerful characters showboat to excess: spinny-flip CGI Yoda. Thank fuck they didn’t do that to Luke.

Re: High Streets Woes - part II

They did nothing to help themselves. The last time I was in HMV was about a year ago with my dad. He’d found something he wanted and so we stood in a queue that didn’t move for five minutes because the one person serving was answering someone’s inane questions. Other staff were milling around rearra...
