Re: The Food Thread

And now that Jez's question is answered, here is last night's mighty steak. Knowing I was going to be sharing it with you lot (visually anyhow) I was nervous that I would fuck it up - happily I didn't! Here it is, naked, up to room temp, and looking pretty damn good right? https://s15.postimg.cc/ckb...

Re: The Food Thread

How did you cook that brisket mate? As in the temps and timings etc? Love brisket myself. I always do brisket the same way, I just vary the rub: Get the smoker to around 225F which is at the lower end of the 'smoke window' (lower than that and you don't get any smoke, much higher than 275F and your...

Re: The Food Thread

Change of plan, my butcher mate had some beautifully marbled tomahawk steaks, so picked up one of those (at just under a kilo it will feed the wife and I and then some), and going to cook it on the Master Touch. Pics will still follow.

Re: The Food Thread

Today is a no-rain day, so I shall be smoking meat. Yus. Mrs Snowy has instructed me that she would like a beer-can chicken with smoked corn on the cob. I shall gather pics along the way for you. So the cook will be on the Smokey Mountain, no need for the Master Touch today. I will be using a neat l...

What the title says. Post all your metal listenings, giggings, and anything else related to the dark and heavy side of life. As a starter for 10, new Bloodbath album announced, once again with Nick Holmes from Paradise Lost on growls: http://peaceville.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/BB-TAOSID-cover-...

Re: Graveyard Keeper - out 15 August

I have heard enough to know that this isn't for me.

Shame, I loved SV and this sounded right up my alley, being a darker version of the same, but it just sounds too grindy and flawed.

So it would appear one post about my caveman cookery is enough ;)

Re: The F1 thread

Just my opinion mate, bolstered by his recent Le Mans win and only losing out on an Indy500 win due to engine failure. He is one of the only racing drivers who can consistently be relied upon to deliver. Vettel and Hamilton both drop their heads when things don't go their way, which lessens them in ...

Re: The F1 thread

McLaren's woes started about the same time Adrian Newey was lured away by RBR, which was pretty much exactly the same story as when he was lured from Williams to McLaren as far as Williams' fortunes were concerned. McLaren have also certainly made some bad choices, both from a management perspective...

Re: The Food Thread

Glad you enjoyed my mega-thread - I did read it once posted and thought "Doubt anyone will want to read all that bobbins" so what do I know?! For your viewing pleasure, here is some brisket that I did recently, sliced pastrami style - you can see the smoke ring quite clearly. https://s15.postimg.cc/...

Re: The Food Thread

Great idea for a thread. So - I love american BBQ cooking and have done ever since I visited the mecca that is Franklin BBQ in Texas. I have a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker, and provided there is no rain expected you can find it in my back garden every weekend cooking meat long and slow. The whole ai...

Re: Currently Playing

I agree with that - the protagonist is likeable, the missions while there are still 'types' of mission (solve the crime, rescue the bod, kill the person) are well acted and often multi-stage. The setting is hugely evocative and well brought to life too, the world around you believable whether the bu...

Re: New Logo

No bother; t'was a fun wee project! By the way, that designer I told you I got in touch with? He is very talented (he illustrates old school RPGs and creates black metal band logos), and he actually did get back me in the end (he's a busy man, apparently), but he said he would charge £120 for the w...
