Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!

I took my wife to see Jack White play Hammersmith Odeon (whatever the fuck it is called now - rebranding can eat dicks) and you had to lock your phone in a little case that they gave you. The whole gig and just people rocking out to the band, not a single stupid screen in sight, it was utterly fucki...

Re: Borderlands 3

Couple of YouTube videos saying it, no idea if it's true. Apparently it has come from hackers trying to crack the game, so until I hear it from a more reputable source than the YouTube tinfoil hat brigade I will call BS on that one I think. That fucking RPS review, why on earth do they employ that c...

From the article:

"Somebody else just showed me their leg, which was covered in Peaky Blinders character tattoos. It's very humbling and gratifying that it's had this effect on people."

Yup, load up that tattoo shotgun and blast away!

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

I'd stick it on some social media platform as well if the legal route doesn't work out. Companies hate bad publicity. Yeah, a good Twitter-blast will shake them up, but keep your powder dry till you have spoken to the CAB... That is horrendous, especially for someone who is already a nervous driver...

Re: Borderlands 3

No problem mate, ping me anytime you fancy some more. I have had zero issues, which I am glad about. I tend to play a 'pick 'em off from afar' type game when I can too, so would have noticed any zooming stutter. Runs smooth as buttered silk for me. The new movement does make things more slick, slidi...

Oxford is the UK's most "woke" city, according to some bullshit. So that's nice, I guess.

We had to get our intern to explain what the fuck "woke" meant.
This goes straight into my Room 101 list.

Yeah they are an expensive buy, but the ability to lock yourself away from the world and experience music in such clarity is worth the outlay imo.

The noise cancelling is absolutely nuts, quite how they deaden the noise of the outside world is nothing short of witchcraft.

Re: The 'I Just Bought' Thread - Technology Edition

Picked up a pair of these bad boys on a whim at the airport after having read a few reviews. They are truly excellent. Some of the best noise cancelling headphones I've ever used, and so comfy. The sound quality is super punchy too. https://www.sony.com/image/a3bfc42e96ae057f8520f6ce9af1c17f?fmt=pn...

Re: Borderlands 3

Having a whole lot of fun though. Any surprises? Not really. Claptrap arrives within seconds of the game starting but is mercifully brief. Speaking of brief, one of your first missions sees you rescuing a bandit leader clad in a tatty cape and Y-fronts who has some funny dialogue. So far so Borderla...

Re: Currently Reading

I'm about half way through The Blade Itself by Abercrombie. I'm enjoying it but I have to say that I expected more given how highly praised he is. Glokta is an entertaining perspective and quite well done but the others seem somewhat cliche and one dimensional to me, and the writing is quite basic ...

In terms of musicianship I can't fault them, but that's not enough to hook me sadly.
