Re: The Covid-19 Thread

I think spittle is considered the most dangerous emission, primarily because it can travel for longer distances and so is more likely to attach to someone else. You still ideally want to block smaller particles too.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I can't do thursday this week (I've got my first honest-to-goodness offline socialising in the best part of six months that evening), but I'd be good for wednesday.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

I'm lucky in that I can take my glasses off and still see well enough to do anything that doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer. Likewise, although I will probably end up slapping some poor pensioner as I wave groceries around at arm's length trying to read the label  Well, they shoul...

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

So face coverings are going to be mandatory in England's shops from the 24th. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53397617 I think for most people this will be a minor inconvenience, but it's a bit of a pain if you wear glasses. I'm lucky in that I can take my glasses off and still see well enoug...

Re: CrossCode

I've played the first hour or so and, yeah, this is pretty good so far. It's an interesting setting that I don't fully understand yet, but it's entertainingly meta, and there's clearly a lot of scope for creativity. I went back and watched that trailer from the Switch thread, and it looks like there...

Re: The F1 thread

I still keep calling them Force India by mistake even after more than 18 months. "Racing Point" is just so unbelievably bland as to be entirely forgettable. At least they'll be Aston Martin next year. I have to admit I at least partially agree with Renault on this, and this needs looking into. It ju...

Re: The F1 thread

See, I thought that Racing Point had been protested at the start of the year and cleared, so either my memory is wrong or Renault have some new evidence. It's telling that Mercedes have been asked to supply parts for comparison though.

Re: CrossCode

Although it was me you initially replied to, I had to look it up as I had no memory of this

I've got it downloading on Gamepass, I may take a look at this evening. The user reviews certainly seemed very positive.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3RkBKedKWw Hmm. The reaction seems to be decidedly positive, but it didn't grab me at all. The one redeeming feature for me is that the showrunner said they wouldn't do it unless it was considered canon. The showrunner, incidentally, is one of the producers from Rick...

Re: The F1 thread

Not as good a race this week, but there were some brilliant moments. That penultimate-last lap battle was pretty good, and Verstappen's battle with Bottas was excellent. Norris remains third in the championship, and I think it's obvious he's a rising star. I'm almost worried about the driver pairing...

Re: Skyrim Composer and Night in the Woods Dev Accused of Rape

I just don't get it. Maybe it's the fact that I've worked in an environment that's been between 40% and 90% women for ten years, or maybe it's just the fact that I'm a half decent human being, but I just don't get how it's difficult to not force yourself on someone. "He reportedly blocked a woman in...

Re: E3 2020: CANCELLED

Devolver's presentation is usually a highlight of E3 for me, regardless of what they actually announce. This year's most exciting prospect was Carrion.... which was also my most exciting from last year, but at least release is just a couple of weeks away this time. I've got Devolverland Expo downloa...

They hit $300million in June.

I'll pay attention to Star Citizen when Squadron 42 is released. Until then it's nothing more than a tech demo to me.

Re: Trump

I suppose this is just how it is now. Somebody breaks the law in Trump's favour, and Trump gets them out of jail time. It's corruption in the extreme, completely out in the open, and nothing happens. America's famous for its system of checks and balances, but they clearly don't work. Trump has prett...
