Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange

I'm surprised he can hold onto that thing without suffering third degree burns.

I don't think this really requires elaborating on.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Ehh, I think if the goal of the article is to get a layman interested in particle physics, then dressing it up in a flowery analogy is probably not the worst idea they could have had. Anyone who isn't already aware of the concept of dark matter and dark energy is going to have zero interest in this...

Ehh, I think if the goal of the article is to get a layman interested in particle physics, then dressing it up in a flowery analogy is probably not the worst idea they could have had. If it were in a science journal, then I'd be concerned. I will concede that "ghostbuster-in-chief" is taking the met...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Bit of a review plus a question. At the weekend I watched Ghostbusters for the first time in probably a decade, and honestly I thought it was exceedingly average, which was both a surprise and a disappointment. The script is average for the most part, albeit with two or three excellent one-liners, a...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Pretty much exactly that. At one point I was using my adjustable spanner as a hammer to try and force the pedal plate down as it had gotten wedged between two immovable parts and I couldn't put enough force behind it from the other direction. To say I've marked the paintwork would be an understateme...

Re: General Film News

For a teaser, that seems to give a hell of a lot away. It looks fine, the return to a spaceship setting is probably a good thing, but I'd honestly suggest not watching that video.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

This week I decided to make some long-needed alterations to my sim rig. You'll note that post was from 2021, and I mentioned that I still needed to mount my racing pedals. Well, it's 2024 now, and I still haven't finished mounting my racing pedals. They've been attached, sure, but not in a particula...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange

This is worth a watch if you enjoy schadenfreude. It contains increasingly desperate video messages from Donald to his supporters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGqwU_OF7rg Trump can't pay his half-billion dollar penalty because no company in their right minds will offer a bond of that amount to a...

Re: Outcast - A new beginning

As a fan of the original, I was interested in this until I saw it in action. It just looks cheap to me; the animation has no fluidity to it, and I hate that they've swapped the primitive-looking civilisation of Adelpha for a generic-looking James Cameron's Avatar high-tech-meets-lush-wilderness aest...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

Next up; a redefinition of the term "undermine the UK's system of liberal parliamentary democracy and democratic rights" to ensure the Tories don't count. I really think it's bizarre that gerrymandering is possible in our current legal system, at least without signoff from local leaders. I had a fly...

Re: General Gaming News

There's definitely a discussion to be had on the benefits of official licenses, but I don't think EA are the right people to ask about them. We got what, 1 decent AAA Star Wars game in the ten years they had exclusive rights to one of the biggest media franchises in the world? I'm sure it probably d...

Re: General Gaming News

I've never once bought a videogame for £70, and I don't think I will anytime soon. At the absolute maximum, I'll pay £50, but that's a once in a blue moon, extremely highly regarded title like Baldurs Gate 3. If they can't make games and sell them for a profit at that price, then they just need to s...

Have they fixed the sound issue that apparently really spoiled the first for a lot of people? I think it was something to do with the dialogue mixing.

Aww. The Hairy Bikers were usually the best cooking shows on TV, and the two had such chemistry.
