Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

While Scrancher is busy off somewhere (nearby) on the daily quest for water in these parched lands, the rest of the Bean Bunch see something strange by the side of the trail as they travel along on their various mounts. A single black menhir juts out of the cracked earth, an oddly jarring monument i...

Re: General Chat

Fun fact: there's no description of the orb which Rose Michen had upon her, other than it was "imbued with antediluvian magick". For its colour (red with black veins) I decided to copy the pattern of the "Bloodstone" from David Gemmell's Jon Shannow trilogy, which has something of a western vibe, th...

Oatly is fab!
I haven't yet nerved myself up to buying the more expensive 'Oatly' brand, but this week I tried something from Lidl called Vemondo Oat Barista which has been my favourite brand thus far.

Next week when I go shopping I might upgrade to Oatly and compare it.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs A strange collection of short Western tales, by the Coen brothers, mashed together into a single film, where all are told back to back, each one stranger than the last. My favourite was actually the one called The Girl Who Got Rattled . I thought it had the best overall...

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

Cumflutter finds good water. Cadaver Kid's insides seem hardened to whatever passes for water in this land.

While we wait for Scrancher to find water, someone roll me a d100 for today's random encounter!

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

I think I might just have it as d4 damage across the board.

d4 damage and Miserable. That means you don't heal when resting. Thankfully you're not short of medicines.

1 on the d4 (I presume you meant a 1 on the Grit roll for the instant death check  )
Yeah, sorry, that's what I meant. Though...even that method is a little inconsistent as it doesn't state how much HP is lost, which affects the death check. I need to think this through a bit more.

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

Why don't you roll me a d4 for damage, Doc. I've been a little inconsistent about the effects of bad water, but I'm starting to think it should be:

Standard failure: d4 damage
Rolling a 1: death check (or instant death for NPCs)

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

Doc's luck may have run out lol. 4 and 8. Doc ain't feelin' so good today... :-& Let's see how Cadaver Kid copes... it's 2d20 for CK as well now. I feel like it's probably fair karmic retribution if the Bean Bunch's journey comes to an end with all four of us shitting ourselves to death in the midd...

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

From the mixture of the poisoned berries and a shot of whiskey, Doc makes...a weak poison that does d2 damage! Yes, sometimes even Doc's successful mixtures are still hazardous. DAY 5 Once again, the Bean Bunch awakens to a new dawn and packs up their things, ready for the next stage in their long j...

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

Leaving the old man's body in the dust, soon to become food for maggots and vultures (just as he would have wanted, I suppose) the Bean Bunch continue down the Scorned Path until the stars twinkle in the twilight vault above, and it's time once more to set up camp. Everyone's feeling a lot better th...

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)

In a few minutes, the old man has suffocated beneath Rufus' rear end.

Another corpse left in the wake of the Bean Bunch.
