It was caused by a bolt of lightning.

Which I obviously summoned. ¬_¬

Re: Aaand, In Other News...

I was born in York a year before the Minister Fire -- I remember my parents talking about it a bit when I was a lad. It was a pretty big deal at the time.

Re: \m/ Metal \m/

That said, I think I prefer mid-to-late Immortal to Abbath's solo work. :-k

Re: The travel thread

Well, except for the fact that it's only the roof that was damaged, and it's going to be restored.

Re: Game of Thrones S8

I didn't realise Sky had exclusive rights to stream it in the UK. I somehow imagined it would be available on Amazon Prime.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Viking Destiny A strange, low-budget film about a Viking princess who claims the throne of a fictional Norse kingdom called Völsung. Despite some questionable acting, strangely choreographed fights and a fairly shallow plot, it has some spectacular visuals. I'm not going to recommend it to anyone, ...

Re: \m/ Metal \m/

Well, I realise I'm a little late to the party (by a couple of decades), but I only just discovered Immortal last week and, by extension, Abbath.

I am now a fan!

Re: The travel thread

I usually go to Chattanooga, Tennessee once a year to stay with the in-laws for Christmas. Didn't go last year, but I suspect this year we will.

Other than that, I don't really go on holiday, but take various day-trips to historical places of interest around the UK.

Re: General Film News

Personally, I don't get too hung up on all the issues. I just take what's on offer and choose to enjoy it.

Re: Currently Reading

I have begun reading The Rigante series by David Gemmell. The first one is Sword in the Storm . So far, so good; it's really well written and I have a good feeling about it. Got a little tired of this, so I've switched back to reading The Iron Lance by Stephen R. Lawhead, which I mentioned earlier ...

Re: Currently Playing

I don't know guys, Altered Beast is really, brutally hard, but there is something about it I really like! My kids seem to really enjoy it too. The only thing that bugs me is that something seems to be wrong with the "change into a beast" animation on level 2. The dragon's face seems to be off-centre...

Re: Currently Playing

Bought Altered Beast today from Steam -- first time I've ever played it. I had no idea it had two-player support; that was a nice surprise as it meant both my sons could play together. It's not quite as good as Golden Axe, but it's still a lot of fun.
