Re: The Travel Thread

Just got back from a trip to Malaysia, Borneo, Hong Kong and Dubai. I'm holidayed out. Did you enjoy Hong Kong? I really wanna go there. My girlfriend and I are thinking of going this autumn, possibly combined with some time in Vietnam. Also: Dubrovnik. Good? Taking the GF there for her birthday. H...

Re: Stephen King

I ended up reading The Dead Zone , because I had it with me already. Really good, up there with Salem's Lot! It didn't go exactly where I thought it would when I read the blurb. Next up is The Stand . I am loving this, I can't believe how much good stuff I have been missing out on. And he's so proli...

Stephen King

So, I've decided to try to get into Stephen King after putting it off for years. However, he has written so many books that it is difficult to know where to start. I ended up going with Pet Sematary as my first, followed by 'Salem's Lot . I loved both! Particularly Pet Sematary - difficult to say mu...

Re: News holiday

I am kind of the opposite at the moment, all the Brexit stuff going mental recently has made me much more interested/less tired of it. When it definitely starts going a 'bad' way, however...

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit

The more of a shitshow this becomes, the more optimistic I start to feel about it. The impression I get is that it is increasingly more likely that there will have to be something drastic like an amendment that includes a requirement for a second referendum in order for May's deal to be voted on/pas...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Children of Men I decided to go back to this one after reading the book that it is (very, very loosely) based upon. I still feel the same way about it as I did back when I watched it as a teenager: a resounding 'meh'. I don't get why so many people on the internet wank over this film so much. Yes, ...

Re: The Photography Thread

Does anyone know of some decent free software for photo processing/editing? Darktable? I don't want to pay for lightroom.

(I don't mean hardcore editing, I mean for touching photos up a bit etc.)

Re: Apex Legends [PC, PS4, XBone] - Respawn's F2P BR

I have to admit I don't really 'get' this game. After hours of PUBG, the shooting feels like trash in this, and everyone is a bullet sponge. It also still has that fortnitey f2p aesthetic that puts me off. Meh.

Re: The Photography Thread

Ooh a photography thread, me likey! I've been meaning to get more into it, since I got a mirrorless camera a year or so ago (Sony A6000, so not high end). A few photos are here, some of which are from my phone as well: https://www.instagram.com/james.lawrence1/ Unfortunately they're all the shitty i...

Re: Currently Playing

If they ever release a new game on the next source engine and it's still moddable, we'll have another golden age. Come on, Valve :(

Mate of mine helped make the original DoD (and possibly the Source one, I'm not sure). He had some sort of God Tier-like Valve package as a result, that he hardly ever used...
They kinda seem like 'forgotten' games now, it's sad. Overshadowed by counter strike and TF.

Re: Currently Playing

Day of Defeat: Source I used to play this and CS:S all the time when I was a teenager. Quite often I would end up playing stupid custom maps, stuff like surf, jailbreak, minigame, etc. I have recently been stuck with my semi-old laptop, so I can't play anything that new. As such, I've been re-livin...

I can dig it. I kind of just want another Fallout game with better shooting though.
