Re: Gaming laptops and fan noise

I've removed some bloatware. Flattened the fan curves and it's much nicer.

If I'm round my girlfriend's and need more piece and quiet I'll try the 'discrete GPU' only route too.

Gaming laptops and fan noise

Any of yous lots got or had a gaming laptop? I thought I'd treat myself (promotion at work, yay) so got one. However, even when idling it can sometimes ramp up it's fan to really high levels. I windered if this was normal? Should I tweak the fan curves to let it run hot but quieter? I've never had o...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Started re-watching that a while back. I loved it back in the 90s.

The (kinda) twist in the middle was fun.

The fleshed out characters. All very good :)

Re: UHD/HDR must haves

YouTube is your friend mate, soooo many amazing 4k dodads to enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ Just thought I'd have a gander at this one just for a laugh... about 3 minutes in the music does some weird noises that sounds just like a teams call is coming through. Panicked me as I'm...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I thought you linked the trailer. I wonder how long the trailer is, I thought. An hour and a half? Oh, that's the film in full! Thanks :)

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Agree with Maturin. Watched Ghostbusters quite recently and still thought it was good. It was part of a big list of films I wanted my son to watch.

Re: Currently Playing

Oh my god. I just spent the past 10 minutes looking to see where I can buy this new FF7 rebirth. It's only on PS5 at the mo :(
So sad

Re: Outcast - A new beginning

Agreed. I think contrler is thegi to device but I literally can't do anything with controllers so also played M&K.

I got it quite cheap from a cd reseller so saved 20 quid that way.

Outcast - A new beginning

I'm torn on this one. The original voxel based game was weird and fun (once you worked out what you had to do). This new version is pretty generic but yet beautiful in places. It's easy to control then it suddenly isn't (when trying to do a 'platform' puzzle) The gunplay is fun, the jetpack is fun. ...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Dune Part two continued Also just got back from watching this. Seemed to be slightly too long in places. Some actual bits that made me laugh (a little bit too much like Life of Brian) but overall a good film. Didn't wow me as much as part one that went straight to one of my favourite films ever. Ca...

Re: Currently Playing

Magicraft On Steam, I saw someone playing on Youtube and thought I'd give a go. It was quite cheap. I've already put 40 or 50 hours into it (and this is after buying Helldivers 2 :0 :) ) It's a typical roguelike(lite?) but it has a wand swap thing like Noita (if anyone played that). It's an absolut...
