I tried it and it seemed to just ignore the discrete bit and fired up the nvidia GPU anyway when I started a game to test it. I've removed some bloatware. Flattened the fan curves and it's much nicer.

If I'm round my girlfriend's and need more piece and quiet I'll try the 'discrete GPU' only route too.

I got it quite cheap from a cd reseller so saved 20 quid that way.

I'm torn on this one. The original voxel based game was weird and fun (once you worked out what you had to do). This new version is pretty generic but yet beautiful in places.
