Re: I Just Watched (Films)

In The Tall Grass It’s not bad, goes a bit needlessly off the rails a bit trying to pad out a short story but it’s not bad. Hadn’t read the short before hand but have done now and I much prefer the more focused plot of the short. Gemini Man Way better than I expected. The CG is good when it’s good a...

It’s a ship of hot models that are inept at everything until the plot demands they science. It makes Lexx look high class.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Marianne on Netflix it’s quite excellent so far! Horror series about a writer that’s somehow linked to an evil spirit. It’s not one that relies on modern horror tropes of ”quiet..........AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!” it earns its atmosphere by showing pretty much everything and in doing so it earns some laug...

Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

I’ve avoided it since someone said it has loot so the cinema trailer was the first I’d really seen it. Looks like bloody destiny in trees! The cosmetics are horrendous and they were already pretty bad in GRW. I also have no interest in fighting robots or humans that take more than 1-3 shots.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Our company work with Sky and in sky’s big anti plastic “ocean rescue” initiative they.... and I shit you not.... sent all their engineers a cheap shitty PLASTIC, not even insulated, travel mug that probably makes anything in it taste of polybags and almost certainly all went in the bin. Fucking mor...

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 [PS4, XBone] - PC in November

Witcher 3 was also graphically impressive and whilst the world wasn't quite as big it was only around 50gbs. I read RDR2 was 'only' 99Gb on consoles, so not sure how they've managed to add an entire Witcher 3 effectively for the PC release. Probably uncompressed audio and higher resolution textures.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Ad Astra Uneventful Horizon. It’s fine. I appreciate it’s world building and I didn’t mind the minimal slow plodding style. It all felt grounded in reality, mostly. Then in the last 15 mins they duck it all and do two utterly ridiculous things in a row. The leaving Mars part was a bit of a logic le...
