Not to brag or anything, but I recently moved into an apartment complex here that has two large 50m pools and a few smaller ones.
Wow! Where abouts is that? Bear in mind I don't even know what country you're in!

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Shit, thanks for the heads-up, I had no idea! Would have been a good idea to put "part 1" in the title, not sure where it was announced but I've not seen that anywhere.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

One of these years I'm going to cave and buy an overpriced air con unit that I don't have room for. My parents got me one as a birthday present years ago, and the same unit is still going strong. We've not busted it out of its cupboard just yet, but it is an absolute godsend when you need it. Noisy...

Oh, it's possible, certainly, but the overheads for streaming services (most of which are already desperately cost-cutting) mean that only headline films will get that treatment.

Re: Aaand, In Other News...

My TV’s panel was about the best you could buy for films at the time (and still isn’t far off the best 2 years later) and it cost me £1200. My 4k player cost £180. I could buy the same setup for my bedroom and still have a grand or so to spare compared to Apple’s VR. I mean… sure, but that's a mass...

Re: Aaand, In Other News...

I'm also not convinced that watching a movie on it will look better than a high quality TV playing a 4K disc, which can be achieved for a fraction of the cost. With over 4K per eye, I wonder if the brain will see that as better than 4K, or just the same. Either way, I can't see it being worse than ...

Re: Aaand, In Other News...

Each eye sees a higher resolution than a 4K screen, the pixels are miniscule . They said each pixel is 7.5 microns wide (human hair is about 70, red blood cells 8), and followed up with the fact that they crammed 64 pixels in the space of a single iPhone "retina' pixel. I'll wait until I see it but ...

I dunno if it's changed or if I'm blind, but I have no idea what you're on about with the pay or charts stuff. Nor raids, actually.

I've subscribed to a handful of folks and watched various things on there, but it never really holds my interest for long.

Ah yeah, AMD and Intel cooler mounting has been different for ages now. If it's a universal cooler it'll come with come changeable brackets for each.

Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Technology Edition

I'm with Mantis on this one, I feel like 27" 1440p is the sweet spot; The pixels look much smaller than 27" 1080, it's not too taxing a resolution to run most any games at with a decent card and a bit of settings fiddling, and I have tried and do not like curved or monster-wide screens. Windows supp...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

The govt would have to buy all that land though, they can't just take it from people else we'd all be fucked.

You're right this country is a mess, but I don't think upheaving the monarchy is going to improve things in the short term.

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

I really don't know why he didn't stand aside in favour of William, what's the point? Selfishness? Anyway, I agree — seems pointless to put someone in the position so late, we'll definitely be seeing William's one sooner rather than later, and he's already 40… Millions spent on them when some mere ...
