Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Speaking of 80's/90's... Dark Angel A 7ft alien criminal lands on Earth and injects people with massive overdoses of heroin and then sucks the "high" juice out of their skull. Dolph Lundgren is a cop trying to stop him by breaking all the rules blah blah.. Entertaining for what it is, a late 80's e...

Re: Currently Reading

Southern Reach Trilogy I love the movie for Annihilation , and I saw that before reading any of the books. Having now read the novel, I thoroughly enjoyed it and absolutely rinsed it in a few sittings. The movie now feels like its own story set within this universe, like it was one of the prior exp...

Purchased.

I'll get my bearings with it first then hopefully try to catch some of you for a game at some point.

Re: Helldivers 2 - Snowy's potted review

I really quite fancy this even though I almost never play online. The last time was literally with some of you fellas on Breakpoint about 2 years ago. Since then I've also moved and have fairly unreliable internet. I may take the plunge and try it out at some point as the Starship Troopers/Terminato...

Re: Currently Playing

I stopped somewhere in the 2nd DLC, just wandered into new things. The DLCs are also nails! I wasn't enjoying the 2nd one quite as much, maybe that was why.

I believe the Ghost Dogs only activate if you try shooting the Marauder outside of his window of opportunity. Once I learned that, game changer.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

I found the rocket arm to be a real disappointment. Gorilla arms all the way for me, along with my trusted katana. Bullet deflection with the katana is a joy, especially when you come up against an opponent sniper and send their bullets winging their way back into their own cranium with a jedi-like...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

Aye, so this is really good. I've been on a cyberpunk kick recently and came to this straight after Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - they're different enough from each other. Anyway, I'm still fairly early on in my playthrough (not much after Konpeki Plaza heist) and I'm just absorbed in the world. I've g...

Re: Currently Playing

Quantum Break First of all, this is not a very good PC port. The disparity between the cutscenes that are all locked to 30fps is quite jarring, both with stutters (boom boom) and graphical issues. The SSR seems broken too. Along with that, the episode streaming isn't the best so it's been easier to...

I haven't watched the full show, but what I did see of the footage was great. This version of Future Breed Machine is phenomenal.

Re: The gig thread

Cult Of Luna Saw these guys again in Glasgow tonight, such a damn good band. My partner is in Bristol for work, so she missed it and I took my brother instead. He didn't know their stuff but enjoyed it. I figured the vocals would be the entry barrier for him as they are pretty monotonous in their h...

Re: Currently Listening

I messed around today with some pedal-stacking and the Telecaster that my mate made for me. I decided to add some vocals too as it's been a while since I recorded any so I enjoyed the practice. It's a pretty nice wee tune, soft with plenty of soupy delays. https://soundcloud.com/marc-careys-music/te...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

After reading those reviews Mark Kermode decided to pack it in and find a new job  Haha aye, I'm next in line for his job. I wrote those verbose reviews while having a shit in an airport before my third and final flight. I was tired and took influence from my surroundings... Also, I notice tha...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

First one was a nice surprise, the second was a mostly predictable turd. I agree there were some cool ideas. I'm just returning from 2 weeks in Japan so I've watched numerous movies on long flights, many of which I wouldn't have watched otherwise. Life Not shite. Apart from the ending. Trust Nice Ca...
