Re: The F1 thread

Re: The run off areas, it's an interesting contradiction between bike and car racing - the gravel is needed to slow bikes down to prevent serious injuries and the opposite is the case for cars as they can no longer steer/brake once they're in there. Cataluyna was modied with the removal of certain s...

Cleaning my fucking teeth, I'm 6' 4'' - it's something to do with being half bent - it's causes my back to ping out and then take a few days to a week to get over it

Re: Happy birthday to Snowy!

Happy belated Birthday Snowy, I'm 3 years behind you on this one.

It was my other half's 40th last year and we did a long tour in the far east that ran through mid March to early April and we have oftne remarked how lucky we were it was last year.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

Easier to control the supermarket stuff though to make it safe. We wipe all our shopping down with Dettol wipes when we get in. Can't really do that with food someone has handled in a kitchen which you eat immediately in a pub or restaurant. Do you do that with fresh produce also or are you avoidin...

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

I've nothing against people who do head to pubs and restaurants - that's their choice. I guess I just don't want a pint or a meal out enough to warrant the risk. The measures in place I've seen from various photos and descriptions from friends appear to be a mixed bag, but even at the places that a...

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

Anyone else still firmly in the mindset that going to the pub / eating out is not yet worth the risk, while simultaneously being texted by a bunch of people trying to get you to go out? I'm not sure how I can make my stance any clearer to certain people. :? We've been to 5 separate pubs since lockd...

Re: The Witcher - The Netflix Series

I genuinely enjoyed the fact that it was shot in such a way. Less that it was or wasn't confusing but more that it exampled how the protagonists intertwinned over them. Beats flash backs any day.

Books use this device more often than film/TV I guess.

Haven't watched a Mac vid since he made his horrible views clear.
Which specific views were those?

RIP Ennio Morricone. :(

Other than John Williams, I can't think of another composer who has created such iconic film scores.

Vangelis maybe? :-k

Sad to Morricone go but a good, long life and fantastic legacy to leave.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

I think we're seeing people going places that wouldn't normally go there. I hate tarry brushes but scrotes aren't exactly known for wandering local wildlife and or beauty spots. Many of these people would be or have been abroad by now. It's like some kind of over reaction.

Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Normal Edition

Continuing my dive into deepest middle-classness, I have imported two cases of wine from Portugal, having been tipped off by a colleague. It's ridiculous how much we pay for wine over here; the stuff I've opened tonight would probably cost £8-10 in a British supermarket, but was €3.75 a bottle. I d...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Now, can we mention toilet attendants? What the fuck? Who started this awful trend, and why the fuck would I want some shit aftershave from a dude who spends all night in the bogs? I can wash and dry my own hands as well, thanks very much. Fuck off! And to add something to this. It makes me genuine...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

I quite enjoy a club just to laugh at all the fuckwits in there. Like you Snowy, I'm a bit of a veteran (47 this year) although I wasn't deeply into any club culture back in the day, I just love the music. I do like the fact that most Pubs are (were :( ) open to what was pretty much standard club ho...

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

Lets just say it's people. I doubt it's a particular demographic as behavior like this is passed down generationally. Can you remember when we voted to leave EU? I don't know about you but I was stunned as everyone that I knew, talked to, worked with, voted remain. We live in bubbles and associate w...
