Re: The F1 thread

To clarify, I think Verstappen is a brilliant talent but whenever things start going pear shaped he seems to unravel a fair bit. There's no doubt the Red Bull car is leagues ahead of the others but I do think that that shouldn't overshadow just how good Verstappen is, even if he's a petulant child t...

Re: The F1 thread

My other half is a big fan of F1 and a huge Hamilton fan so it's not been the most pleasant year so far but it's certainly been interesting other than dominance of the Red Bull. We were in Japan earlier this year and had tickets for Suzuka which I enjoyed, it's the first one we've ever managed to ge...

Genuinely didn't realise how they worked so left them on. I'm wondering if that's why I'm not suffering much so far.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

well, that fills me with trepidation

Problem with dropping to the lowest dificulty level is that you (currently) can't multi-class and I have plans so I need to be able to do that.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

Spoilers! people Spoilers! I'm weak and won't be able to resist looking stuff up :D I've not had a chance to play more as yet but should do this evening. I'm intrigued by the tough fights people are having - are we all playing on Balanced? So far I'm not finding the fights too tough but it might be ...

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

I'm only a few hours in (spent the last hour investigating the refugee camp and now making my way to the Druid sanctum), but it's fantastic to see a setting I've gotten quite invested in over the last few years rendered in such quality. There are tons of little touches, like the way everyone reacts...

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

It’s extraordinary. The reactivity of the world and sheer amount of branching possibilities are mind boggling - it might even surpass Witcher 3 in that regard. And to achieve that at a consistently high level of quality is even more impressive. I was convinced Starfield would be my GOTY, but now I’...

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

Well, this is good, really good. The more I play the more impressed I get. More than anything, I love the characterisation and voice acting. It's like some form of interactive play in many a ways. If you'd asked me about what I was looking forward to most before release I'd have probably said the co...

Re: Baldur's Gate 3: developed by Larian Studios

I genuinely think that news story about major developers telling people it was unfair to expect this level of quality in future was the best piece of marketing the game could have had. I don't suppose you have a link to that do you? I've tried (and failed) to search and find it. Edit: I think I've ...

Nizpoli/JCB song always sounded like prototype Ed Sheeran in retro to me. I found out that he was indeed a guitar technician for them for a period and he names them in his book.

If this is the end then it's not the one I ever expected. I think these have been the maddest most upsetting three years of world history I can remember in my lifetime.

I'd read an article about this but not watched it. There's a huge amount of scorn there from Cameron and he can totally be considered an expert at this point too.

What a bloody fiasco.
