Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
I like how after the battle they seem to have managed to tidy up Winterfell, collect and sort the bodies, arrange a funeral pyre and then a big feast and yet none of them seem to have spoken to each other at all since they stopped fighting. As far as I can tell a bastilla can't fire vertically but ...

Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
They have 3 episodes to wrap up the whole saga. No way they're bringing the undead back again now. That's got to be the (very unsatisfying) end to seven fucking seasons of build up for the Night King arc.

Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
I don't think I have much to add other than to concur that the plot and character choices were bananas. About 15 minutes in I thought they had done a fantastic job of building the atmosphere of the episode and I was fully engrossed, but over the next hour it just completely dissipated. I thought the...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Endgame made $350 million in the US over the weekend. That's an immense amount, particularly when you consider that the biggest ever US cinema weekend before that generated $314 million in totality across all films on release and this is a three hour film. Over 10% of the US population basically saw...

Re: Game of Thrones S8
I'm pretty sure the Red Woman will make a return; she did say to Arya that they would meet again. Do we really need spoiler tags in a GoT S8 thread? Anyway... I don't think Greyworm dies - I think his girlfriend (god knows what her name is) does and he takes her back to the hot place to spread the a...

Re: Fallout 76
It baffles me that they can be fucking up so badly. I doubt I'll ever buy one of their games again at this rate.

Re: Wanking now requires a Govt pass
..the Guardian was easily able to register and age verify an account with the email address IAmUnder18@mailinator.com in a matter of seconds by entering a string of sixteen digits as a non-existent credit card number, raising questions over whether it can actually stop children from accessing inapp...

Re: Wanking now requires a Govt pass
Given how useless the authorities have been at closing down torrent sites, I don't see this accomplishing anything more than pushing even more people into using torrents. When the choices are: 1) Hand over a load of information about yourself so that you can watch porn (even free porn) or 2) Use and...

Re: Wanking now requires a Govt pass
Apparently the Department of Culture, Media, and Sport announced it by emailing all the tech and media journalists in the UK. They didn't BCC everyone, just put everyone in To/CC thus breaching GDPR by sharing everyone's email addresses with everyone else. DCMS are also responsible for implementing ...

I love Berlin. I try to go once or twice a year and must have been 8-10 times now.
Try to go on one of the Berlin Bunker tours if you can - they're really fascinating.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
The Umbrella Academy Slightly surprised I haven't seen anyone mention it yet (unless I've missed it), reckon this would be right up the alley of many on here. Superhero-ish series on Netflix, the premise being after dozens of babies were born in mysterious circumstances around the globe, an eccentr...

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit
The bill that passed in the Common's last night is just one which, if it passes the Lords, will force Theresa May to ask for another extension. It doesn't specify how long that extension has to be, and obviously the EU don't have to grant it. It's basically there to stop May from just waiting until ...
