Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I've watched a couple of episodes of Parks and Rec but didn't really like it. Though I didn't really like the first episode of B99 either so maybe I should give Parks another go.

Re: The Travel Thread

Under-reported? I'm not sure what local paper you've been reading but it's a major story every day on the Guardian home page. If anything, it's being over-reported. It's just a new flu strain, the only reason it's getting so much attention is because of the unknown mortality rate but it's unlikely t...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I think The Good Place is only the second American comedy show I've ever liked (and the first was Brooklyn 99 so Michael Schur seems to be My Guy).

Re: Moving Pictures

It takes a special kind of narcissism to assume that a methodology you made up in an afternoon proves that hundreds of years of science and teaching has been lying to you. ...that being said, some countries are sized completely inaccurately on the maps we're used to. The map of the Earth that most ...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I really enjoyed it from start to finish too. And I'm glad that Michael Schur didn't try to push it for any longer than it ran. I'm a little sorry there won't be any more but I don't think it could have maintained such a standard if they had dragged it on.

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

Eh, he always struck me as a cumudgeon who never got over the fact his father was a much better writer than he was, and spent all his time trying to "protect the legacy" rather than letting people actually see how the sausage was made. I certainly didn't wish him dead or anything but I felt he imped...

Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!

I drink a huge amount of tea and most of it is loose leaf flavoured black teas. If you fancy branching out to other brands, T2 do some very nice ones (their Melbourne Breakfast and New York Breakfast teas in particular are very nice) and they have some sales now and then. Hebden, a tea company based...

Don't forget - assassinating by bombing the capital city of a third country without their permission.

It's baffling to be honest.

Re: The Witcher - The Netflix Series

Overall, I enjoyed the show quite a lot and I thought Cavill was a really good Geralt in the end. Just three points that bugged me a bit: (I don't think any of these are spoilers but just to be safe...) 1) Places. Would it have been too much to show a god damn map at some point to provide some conte...

Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit

So they admitted how crap and slow their investment into the NHS is before the election and people still voted for them. Only 4 or 5 of Labour's lost seats were Remain constituencies. Along with the toxic Corbyn element it truly is Brexit that was the nail in the coffin for Labour. The Tories have ...

Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit

I'm definitely planning to leave the country. There's no point staying here. Jeremy Corbyn was a terrible leader, but ultimately a huge swathe of the country decided they wanted to vote for a homophobic, misogynistic, racist, adulterous liar over someone they "didn't really like for no particular re...
