Re: Snow day!

Re: The elephant in the room - Brexit
Wasn't that the guy that suggested people vote to Leave on his company's beermats? Didn't he then come out and say that it would mean putting the prices up for his customers? He's not only an arsehole, he's a short sighted one too. The signs in my local one promote homegrown Strika liqueur as an al...

I'm too busy trying to die of alcohol poisoning to keep track. Someone post the results in large text when they happen.

Re: Jhe Jiant Jpegs & Jiffs Jhread
I feel this way about every flag I see used in a patriotic/nationalistic way. The swastika and hammer-and-sickle in my collection are nicely ironed, and I don't even have an attachment to either cause. At least get the creases out of your ENGERLUND flag and pretend you didn't just buy it off eBay th...

Re: Currently Reading
I read BNW when I was 17, I think. I wouldn't read it again, but I think it's a very important work, and there's elements of it that I still use in my thinking -- e.g. "The Arch Community Songster" is how I describe most Church of England/Church of Scotland clergymen today. It's not helping my curr...

Re: Currently Reading
Metro 2035 was very good and very moving but at the same time very unlike what was expected. Overall a great trilogy though. I then blew through Beau Geste by P.C. Wren - it turns out that none of the films you've seen on this story actually follow the book, as no feature adaptation has done so sinc...
