Re: Why Can't I find any enjoyment in Cyberpunk 2077?

It’s the ones where you can’t properly identify your problem with a game that are the worst. It’s Assassin’s Creed for me - I’ve played several of them for maybe 5-10 hours each and I can’t get along with them at all. On paper they should be right up my alley, but there’s zero love lost when I event...

Re: The F1 thread

I think he’s replacing Vettel at Aston Martin, much to Alpine’s dismay.

Re: Why Can't I find any enjoyment in Cyberpunk 2077?

I wouldn’t claim Cyberpunk is one of the greatest games ever made, but I don’t think Deus Ex is anymore either. It’s one of the most important games ever, certainly, but the actual experience of playing it these days is not as great as it used to feel. The story is good but wearily dated now, wherea...

Re: Why Can't I find any enjoyment in Cyberpunk 2077?

I’ve played it through a couple of times now and it clicked with me from the get-go. It’s no Witcher 3 but it’s a great game all the same. Horses for courses, I guess!

Re: D&D Interlude: The Vault of the Lady Fortune

Yep, sorry, not back until Sunday. The internet cuts out about every 10 minutes here so a game this week would be something of a trial. ;)

Re: The F1 thread

I was mildly amused by the shot of Hamilton’s sulk walk down some back road, where it looked like he might veer off to go live in the woods.

The state of overtaking was best demonstrated by Vettel, Ocon and Gasly swapping places multiple times in the space of 30 seconds.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

It's getting good reviews tbf, both professional and user on IMDB. Well… it’s not a disaster by any means. I’m not yet convinced of its potential for greatness or longevity, but the first episode has at least convinced me to keep watching. As a fantasy political drama it’s fine on its own terms - t...

I suspect that coming off the back of such excellence, House of the Dragon is going to be like plunging into a septic tank.

I’ll probably give it a go today. Hopes are not exactly high.

Re: Steam News & Updates

I had my first proper field test for the Steam Deck yesterday, with a full day of being on the road as a passenger. I played about 8 hours of Mass Effect 1 (legendary edition), limiting it to 30fps and by using a battery pack with fast charging and around 2 full charges capacity. The game played won...

Re: D&D Campaign 2: D&D Harder

What could be great is if purchased adventures include prebuilt maps. That would be a huge incentive to run published campaigns in there. Roll20 does that too, but you have to buy the module there which is the same price (sometimes more) as buying the book on dndbeyond with a pretty horrible interfa...

Re: D&D Campaign 2: D&D Harder

Yeah, I watched most of it last night - some interesting developments but it is very much updates to the existing rules, and crucially everything new will be compatible with 5e. I'd be keen on trying out some of the rules in our games, but only if everyone is happy with that (and of course I'd go ov...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I thought the ending was great and absolutely fitting. It might not have been the rollercoaster that BB’s final few episodes were, but as a character piece it was superb. I’m going to be mulling on the end for a while, but it’s both heartwarming and heartbreaking that Saul (or Jimmy, rather) admitte...

Absent-minded weariness from the weather + red bed sheet + white bath towels + boil wash = HOT PINK.

I've decided to embrace my new Barbie bathroom decor.
