Re: Currently Reading
I read The Blade Itself last year too. It was very good, I liked the focus on the characters. Not got round to reading the sequels yet though.

Re: General Film News
I was going to go see it but when the reviews started hitting the press I decided against. That video is pretty much a summation of exactly what I was worried the film was going to be. Amusing review, but I think I'll just go on now pretending this new movie doesn't exist.

Re: Server Renewal 2021/2022
Hello Deetz, long time no see.
Prey decided to shut down the old forum at short notice. I was already doing bits and bobs behind the scenes for him so convinced him to transfer things over and everyone voted we carry on under a new name. Certainly doesn't feel like almost four years ago.

Tentative chance of a session this Wednesday or Thursday, I'm just waiting on availability from Bird for either day.

Re: Halo Infinite- Out December 8
As far as I could tell it was pretty much rinse and repeat of generic open world guff for the entire game. It pales in comparison to some of the classic design linear levels from the previous games, though it is bearable just about. The bosses are the main reason I packed it in.

Re: Game of the Year 2021
Cheers for starting the thread up as always DJ. I've actually played a fair chunk from 2021, though a lot of them are HD remasters or remakes. I would say my top five are: The Ascent Pretty simple and quite a janky experience online at times but ultimately was one of the most immersive and wonderful...

Re: Currently Playing
I've just given up on Infinite. The moment to moment gameplay is the best that 343 have ever done with the franchise but it's padded out by an absolute non-entity of a game. Utterly bland open world segments with the absolute worst offender of all, bullet sponge bosses. Nothing saps my will to play ...

Re: Album of the year 2021
I'm struggling to even think of what albums came out this year. Gojira is a big highlight for sure. I feel the same about Mastodon, if it were a bit shorter it would have been more memorable. Iron Maiden's Senjutsu was a pretty good effort from them, though not one of their all time best. Puzzle and...

Isn't this the one that got dropped by Team17 as publisher for Tweeting that they wanted to include a school shooting level? Classy.

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy New 2021
Boiling Brussel sprouts is sacrilegious, no wonder so many people detest them if that's how they're subjected to them. The only true way to cook them is lightly frying with a little white wine and some pancetta.

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy New 2021
I hope everyone has had a good day. Christmas is a very low key affair for my family nowadays but good food and drink are consumed and they're very laid back, so it makes for a fairly pleasant day.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Isn't part of the Spectre plot that Blofeld and Bond had known each other since childhood? If his name was anything other than James Bond then you'd have at least expected Blofeld to mention or hint at him not going by his original name anymore. Coupled with Skyfall, it does blow up any continuity o...

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy New 2021
It seems it's hard to believe for everyone, which isn't surprising given the fact that the last two years have basically been a pause on so much of life, but it is in fact 2022 next.
Have a good Christmas all.
