Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

The last time I had a Domino’s, it was a desiccated husk of a pizza that looked and tasted like it’d been made several days earlier. It had the culinary equivalent of rigor mortis.

Papa John’s is marginally better, but their delivery prices are obscene, even with deals.

Re: Currently Playing

Just given the Tomb Raider 1-3 remasters a go. It's a nice graphical upgrade - faithful to the original, looking like how I remember it rather than what it was actually like. The only other notable change is the addition of a modern control system, which sadly is unusable in its current state, as it...

I never did finish the second season of Loki. Maybe I ought to.
I never started it and had completely forgotten it existed, which is a shame given that I liked the first season.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I think on a better day I might have been more receptive to parts of it and maybe given it a 5/10, but its high positive tone wasn't enough for me to overlook its more glaring flaws. In retrospect, it was Rambeau that irked me most: First, the MCU doesn't seem to have any real clue what her powers a...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

The Marvels There are many points at which the MCU arguably jumped the shark, but just in case there was any doubt, The Marvels does a backflip over a line of sharks off the back of another shark. I’ve possibly watched it in the wrong mindset, as I’ve had a couple of intensely stressful weeks at wo...

Backseat amateur doctors whose snake oil solution for every fucking malady out there is to go for a walk. Walking is good, yes. It is not a substitute for actual medical anaylsis and treatment. These are the sort of people who think saying "touch grass" means they've won an argument.

At the very least, he needs to bring Bono with him. Whenever I hear Leclerc's or Sainz's race engineers, it's like they've got through to an automated AI support line.

Re: The F1 thread

If memory serves, there are significant engine changes coming in 2026, and although strictly speaking teams aren't allowed to start work on the 2026 car until 2025, I can absolutely imagine Ferrari having something quietly in the works that they've shown to Hamilton. It was Mercedes' engine plans th...

John Wick 2 I'm very late to the party with John Wick, having only watched the first film last year. I'm not sure what I expected from the second film, but it was essentially the first film again. Keanu goes shopping; kills everyone. The end. Looking forward to the third. 6/10 Tucker and Dale vs Ev...

Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!

This made me chuckle, from the sheer audacity of it. My niece (14) was briefly excited about the possibility of a school trip to Costa Rica, which had been proposed in a presentation to the students by some starter business. I get the impression it had an insipid "Hey gang!" energy to it. Naturally ...
