Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Spoiler
the rescue scene was handled excellently. I do like the fact its grounded science fiction. Not sure why everyone uses daggers and swords in this universe?

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Dune (2021) Just stunning. I do not think I have seen a film this impressive in its visualisation, set design, music and imagination since Fellowship of the Ring. Unlike the Lynch version I finally understood the plot but I did have one question: Why was the Emperor so afraid of the House of Atreid...

Re: The All Things Twitch Prime/Amazon Prime Thread

When you want to download a Twitch game you now have to download an Amazon Games App. The good news is that all your Twitch games are on this new client but as as far as I can see you cannot stream any Twitch videos.

So Amazon are now running 2 game clients. ](*,)

I am uninstalling the Twitch app.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I tried selling my old DVDs for 50p with a a quid thrown in for posting on eBay. Only sold 3 discs. I stopped all the other sales and will now give them to charity. They are almost next to worthless now. Time and technology moves on. Upon watching DVDs I am shocked by how bad it looks. SD just sucks...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

And that leads me on to a bit of a sad realisation - I just don't enjoy going to the cinema anymore. It used to be that I wanted to see the really big films on the big screen, but I don't think that's the case any more. Now that I have a decent home-theatre audio setup (and don't get me wrong, I kn...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

squeezed another Halloween film - saw Halloween II on Halloween night. Enjoyed it of the 3 Halloween films I have seen. Its essentially The Terminator before that film was made. As a direct sequel to the first film, it works a lot better than the 2018 direct sequel. OK now I am really done with this...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Anatomy of a Murder I enjoy a good courtroom drama, so it's strange that this one has escaped me until now. It lives up to its reputation as one of the all-time greats, with James Stewart's commanding yet folksy performance as good as I've ever seen him. I love how it doesn't suggest (let alone for...

Re: UHD/HDR must haves

I agree. As someone who moved away from physical media in the last 10 years I found there is no option to go back given what UHD can do. I watched the first 15 min of Blade Runner on Saturday, just to see what the UHD can do. My god on my OLED TV the scene of Tyrell's building with all those pin lig...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Halloween 2018 As a direct sequel its not bad. The universe does come with a lot of baggage and coincidences from the first film, but that should be expected. Still not scary, but better kills, some on the borderline of funny. OK I am done with Halloween, glad I saw 2 of the movies, I can move on n...
