Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I've also come to realise that light sabre duels are just jank. I'm watching the two protagonists and thinking "just slide the 'blade' down", you'll cut their fingers off, easy. "Stop spinning" you're showing your back to the enemy. "Use your force push and pull more" you'll eventually knock them o...

Re: Starfield has a release date

For me it was always going to be the case that I'd play until getting bored, and I feel like I'm getting to that point with fewer than ten hours playtime. I don't think there's any chance of me finishing the main story. The game just feels like it was designed in the 90s. The gameplay is utterly pl...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

That's fair, Chris, and I totally get it. I'm not the least bit invested in the character, nor much of the lore. And true enough, most of the Jedi depicted over the decades are more stoic than your average swashbuckling character :) though I would like to see them tease maybe a bit more emotion out ...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Ahsoka 's been pretty good so far. Definitely up there in among the better spin-off shows we've had so far. The last episode felt like quite a bit of filler and unnecessary fan service, spending twenty minutes or so on fleshing out a character which pretty much has no real personality or developmen...

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/did-jimmy-buffett-die-addressed-164500932.html Maybe not so well known across the pond, but I could hardly escape this fellow's music during my years in Florida. Lots of fun music, honestly, and a few sad/touching ones as well. I never saw him in concert, I wasn't tha...

Re: The Witcher - The Netflix Series

Oh right, I meant to update after I watched season 3 but apparently forgot it existed, after having my common sense assaulted for 8 tedious episodes. I won't mention any spoilers, but let's just say that the fight scenes which don't include Geralt are mind-numbingly stupid, period. btw Ian, you're r...

Please do, eny! And anyone else that wants to have a go with us. There's much that draws me back to this particular game, solo and coop, as I've mentioned in previous posts. Would be happy to have you back! :)

As the resident American in these here parts, I whole-heartedly co-sign the notion that that voiceover must be a placeholder, ffs

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Super irritating to me that her name is Ahsoka - in Japanese, this is ah, so ka! which translates to, 'oh, I get it' :x yet another Star Wars anachronism to color my eyes red. I'll get on-board with this at some point. For the nonce, my daughter and I are attempting to watch everything in chronologi...

WRT Division 2: In my heart of hearts, I'd wish that instead of everyone - good guys and bad - leveling up to become extreme bullet sponges, that the difficulty was adjusted in a more old-school fashion, with AI being more clever when selecting difficulty. It would make everything that much more ta...

HBD to Ian! (and moi)

Hello my birthday buddy by a day, haha - Happy Birthday to you, even though I'm now posting this on *my* birthday, your time :)

Hey, it's only 5:30pm here in Northern Cali! It's sunshine all day and cool breezes all night, I wish you well, fellow Ghost

Re: TGA Ghosts - co-op goodness for all

Agree with Ian's write-up. Definitely looter-shooter type, and the game explicitly rewards careful exploration of a gigantic map. There's hidden areas absolutely everywhere. There are many missions that have extra "secret rooms" that can be opened by destroying a power panel, for example. I've start...
