Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook

Remember Bellis, it might be a good idea to move south into the room if you defeat him.

I'll give you the original PDFs. If you run a game I'll happily play.
Okay. Perhaps, say, a week after we finish up with this one I'll continue with another quest. I might throw in a bit of extra gold to spend, make it feel like there's a bit of progression.

EDIT: You guys could always run one!
I might have a think on it actually. I already have a familiarity with the rules so I'd probably be best placed to have a go.

I might have to steal Doug's room/corridor jpegs though. ¬_¬

Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook

I totally wasn't expecting it to be the second room you found, but honestly, it's quite tiring and time-consuming running a forum board game, and while I enjoy it while it lasts, I don't particularly want to keep it going after the Halfling is rescued. It's been a good little taster into the mechan...

Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook

In the meantime, I'm wondering what we should do once we've rescued the cook. If we were playing a normal campaign, I'd recommend exploring more of the dungeon to get as much loot as possible to spend before the next quest. But it depends how Doug wants to go about things. In a way, it's a bit unluc...

Re: Nvidia RTX 2080 and co. announced

So is there some kind of sea change happening with game graphics that's going to need £1000 GPUs from now on? I spent about 15 years spending £120 on a mid-range GPU every 3 or 4 years and played the latest games at only a notch or 2 below full whack. GPU's costing £300+ used to be pushing the boat ...

Re: Tabletop Games (Wargaming, Board Games, RPGs)

Impressive work Doug. AHQ is actually a really good candidate for homemade recreation. I'm sure I've seen replica AHQ room/corridor tiles for sale before. After all, all you need is the rulebook, dice and some figures and you're good to go. EDIT: It might run out of space real quick on a table thoug...

Yeah, if memory serves, we always centred it and it was in effect 3x3.

Nice diagram by the way.

Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook

Thinking on the plan a bit more, does Bellis need to come back into the corridor, assuming he kills the orc champion? After the fireball's been thrown and I go into that spot, it might be good for the following turn to have Bellis in the room somewhere. Give us more room for manoeuvre perhaps? He'd ...

He might want to be cocky and just stay where he is, getting all the action.
