Re: General Film News

It was good of them to put their Deep Blue Sea moment in the trailer as well just to confirm that there is absolutely nothing in this film worth paying for.

Re: George Floyd - US in meltdown

I think Keir Starmer made a good point this morning: "A statue is there to honour people. And you can’t have that [a statue of a slaver] in 21st-century Britain. That statue should have been brought down properly with consent and put, I would say, in a museum." There's remembering history and then th...

Re: GET TO DA CHOPPAH! The 80s actiontastic retro thread

Sorry Snowy but... During a recent interview with Bristol Bad Film Club, Steven de Souza, who wrote the initial draft of Commando 2 (which ultimately never got made) was asked about the whole Die Hard legend. It turns out, that's all it ever was, because as he tells it, there is absolutely no way Co...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I really liked Devs up until the last episode where it became clear that didn't really know what they were talking about. There were definitely a few ups and downs throughout but the final episode was just garbage and ruined what had been up to that point a pretty decent show.

Re: The Covid-19 thread

I saw Mark Hamil posted that this March was the first March in 18 years when the US didn't have a school shooting. All it took was closing all the schools.

If only he knew what he was talking about and the consequences of his perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. There are sensible reasons why WHO guidelines suggest avoiding naming a disease based on the location of origin. For example, doing so reduces the cooperation of the nation where it or...

Re: Forum Bugs and Errors Reporting Thread

For a few days this week I was having the issue on my desktop and my phone, but my work laptop was fine. After clearing the cache it was okay for a day on my desktop and only a few hours on my phone. Then yesterday and today I've been able to get into some forums (such as PC games) but not others (G...

They've been very clear that the tube is running a reduced service because of the number of people either off sick or self-isolating. They're not running a reduced service to keep the tube like a sardine can.
