Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
I think the closest I've come to that level of assembly disaster was at the start of the pandemic where I decided to reorganise the second bedroom as proper office / entertainment room. It's a tiny room, but there wasn't room to do DIY anywhere else upstairs so I ended up putting together two 6ft bo...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
This week I decided to make some long-needed alterations to my sim rig. You'll note that post was from 2021, and I mentioned that I still needed to mount my racing pedals. Well, it's 2024 now, and I still haven't finished mounting my racing pedals. They've been attached, sure, but not in a particul...

Sisu
Decent action romp about a Finnish gold miner slaughtering Nazis at the end of WW2. It’s John Wick meets Rambo, with a dash of Fury Road thrown in. Very violent, very silly and nicely paced at a swift 91 minutes.

Re: Currently Playing
I really liked the first game, but Rebirth is leaps and bounds better in every way. There's such a great variety of things to do and it's (mostly) all fun. I'm disastrously bad at the piano minigame, but it's one where I can see possible improvement. Even playing badly is actually quite funny, espec...

Re: Currently Playing
Oh my god. I just spent the past 10 minutes looking to see where I can buy this new FF7 rebirth. It's only on PS5 at the mo :( So sad I held off initially thinking they might announce the PC version soon after the exclusivity embargo ends in May, but realistically I reckon it’ll be a year or more a...

Re: Currently Playing
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth I've dumped enough hours into this now to summarise my thoughts on it. So far I've just passed the 20 hour mark and I'm about to enter Junon, so it's been quite a lengthy play through scouting every single corner of the map and fully completing both open world areas I've had...

Yep, Cat Smith is good - active in parliament, engages with the community, no lunatic policies as far as I’m aware. I loathe Starmer, but I can justify voting Labour again (rather than another non-Tory party) because I’d actually be voting for Cat.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68556914 Under the new definition, which comes into force on Thursday, extremism is "the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to: 1. negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or 2. un...

Re: Warhammer 40k: Rogue Traders - new Owlcat RPG
I think spacing it out more may have helped, and also I expect patches have helped somewhat, as there were some quests that I’m pretty sure were broken when I played it. As for the ending, this is a little embarrassing but I don’t fully remember! I’m pretty sure I destroyed the C’tan. I initially se...

Re: General Gaming News
who wants to be playing a single player game for 100 hours? I certainly don't. It me. Not always, but I do like a lengthy RPG to get stuck into for weeks on end. Depends on whether the quality is consistent over that time rather than artificially inflated. Ubisoft-style busywork is a waste o...

Re: General Gaming News
Case in point is FF7 Rebirth, which I very much want to play. I could splash out and get the PS5 version for £70, or I could wait and get the cheaper, better PC version when it inevitably comes out, and instead buy House Flipper 2 this month for less than half the price of a new AAA console game. HF...

Re: General Gaming News
I think they're right that it's time for the rise of the AA game. The games I've enjoyed most in the last few years have been lower to mid budget games that prioritise fun over flash. I like cutting edge graphics and physics, but I much prefer games that take 5 years rather than 10 years to create b...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Palo Alto One of the most inane, drivelling wastes of time I’ve ever endured. 100 minutes of angsty, edgelord teens doing insufferable teen shite, while James Franco acts as a background paedophile (in a film apparently based on a book he wrote, which seems really weird. I mean… did he write the pa...

So... George Galloway is an MP again, ready with a can of petrol to hurl onto the dumpster fire of current politics. I best stock up on popcorn.
