Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
I would take cold, I would take heat. I am just utterly fed up with middling temperatures, high winds and rain. https://i.imgur.com/kOqehtn.png I walk 6.5km to work (admittedly more out of choice than necessity; I don't drive but walking's preferable to busses which wouldn't be any quicker anyway), ...

Re: Currently Playing
Should probably mention I have a 5120x1440 resolution display as well so that's almost 4k too.

Re: Currently Playing
It's usually flawless for me, with the odd area (usually the larger, open ones, but sometimes smaller ones with complex lighting and obvious ray-tracing) where you can see a little slowdown, but never anything I'd describe as choppy. I've had a single game crash in ten hours. For reference this is o...

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Given how much of a Star Wars nut I am, and how excited I was for this, it's surprising I managed to hold off on it for this long to let them sort the various issues the PC version had (I don't have a current-gen console, so couldn't play it on anything else). It's been lar...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
To be honest, the fact that Donald didn't take the US out of NATO when he was president is still fairly astonishing considering how little regard he obviously has for the organisation and just how far up Vladimir's arsehole his tongue is.

Re: General Film News
Obviously I'm not bothered about it being MCU and all of the baggage that entails (I suspect I've got more tolerance for it than most here), I just hope to god they haven't Disney-fied it. I know there's a joke about being the first Disney mention of pegging in the trailer, I just don't want that to...

Re: General Film News
I was feeling a bit Marvel'd out a few months back, I think I got two episodes into Loki season 2 before just deciding to watch something else instead (not because I didn't like it, there were just things I wanted to watch more) and never went back. I ended up watching a few episodes of Secret Invas...

Re: General Film News
Did we know this was going to be a full-blown MCU film before now, or have I just not been paying attention? Are they effectively canon-ising all of the Fox films via the TVA?
I never did finish the second season of Loki. Maybe I ought to.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
The Marvels Somewhat disagree. I can't really dispute many of your points, but I really enjoyed it. I suspect this says more about my ability to switch my brain off than the quality of the film itself. I think I've just given up on Marvel films being even remotely serious or, well, good, but this j...

Re: The F1 thread
I do wonder how it will work with Leclerc though, he needs a killer season this year I reckon to keep his top placing. There is no way in hell Hamilton joined Ferrari without the stipulation that he's either number 1, or the drivers will be treated equally. The latter feels unusual for Ferrari, but...

Oh I at least try things that get recommended to me, regardless of whether I think I'll enjoy them.

For what it's worth*, I really enjoyed it too.
*Ian keeps trying to recommend various metal bands to me and I usually bounce straight off them.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
I've added pretty much all of his films to my watchlist (they're all on Disney+), but I'll probably watch them sparingly rather than one after another. I don't want any sort of familiarity with his style so that they land properly.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou I'm not sure why this is only the second Wes Anderson film I've seen - I watched The Grand Budapest Hotel a few years ago and loved it. But anyway, I'm only 20 years late to the party. This is one of the most wonderful pieces of cinema I've seen in a long time, an...
