Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68556914 Under the new definition, which comes into force on Thursday, extremism is "the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to: 1. negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or 2. un...

Re: Warhammer 40k: Rogue Traders - new Owlcat RPG
I think spacing it out more may have helped, and also I expect patches have helped somewhat, as there were some quests that I’m pretty sure were broken when I played it. As for the ending, this is a little embarrassing but I don’t fully remember! I’m pretty sure I destroyed the C’tan. I initially se...

Re: General Gaming News
who wants to be playing a single player game for 100 hours? I certainly don't. It me. Not always, but I do like a lengthy RPG to get stuck into for weeks on end. Depends on whether the quality is consistent over that time rather than artificially inflated. Ubisoft-style busywork is a waste o...

Re: General Gaming News
Case in point is FF7 Rebirth, which I very much want to play. I could splash out and get the PS5 version for £70, or I could wait and get the cheaper, better PC version when it inevitably comes out, and instead buy House Flipper 2 this month for less than half the price of a new AAA console game. HF...

Re: General Gaming News
I think they're right that it's time for the rise of the AA game. The games I've enjoyed most in the last few years have been lower to mid budget games that prioritise fun over flash. I like cutting edge graphics and physics, but I much prefer games that take 5 years rather than 10 years to create b...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Palo Alto One of the most inane, drivelling wastes of time I’ve ever endured. 100 minutes of angsty, edgelord teens doing insufferable teen shite, while James Franco acts as a background paedophile (in a film apparently based on a book he wrote, which seems really weird. I mean… did he write the pa...

So... George Galloway is an MP again, ready with a can of petrol to hurl onto the dumpster fire of current politics. I best stock up on popcorn.

Re: Currently Playing
i seem to remember some horrid mazelike areas that were hard to navigate Oh god yes, I’ve had a couple of moments where I couldn’t remember where the hell I was supposed to go, but eventually I muddled through. The level design veers between superb and bizarrely unhelpful. I love it though, warts a...

Re: Currently Playing
Dark Forces Remastered To say Dark Forces was a formative game for me is an understatement, as it was my first ever contact with Star Wars. I played it to death for a couple of years as a kid, and then Jedi Knight was released and I think I played Dark Forces maybe one more time after that, mainly ...

I'll second that. I've played it twice now and it's such a rich experience.

I've bought a few flight sim accessories from Currys in recent years - they've got a suprisingly decent (if mainstream) range online.

Re: Elden Ring
For some reason I've not had huge trouble with Malenia in my 3 runs so far, whereas Fire Giant and Elden Beast I find an absolute nightmare. Don't get me wrong, Malenia is tough, but I wouldn't count her in my top 5 (maybe even top 10) most difficult bosses across FromSoft games. It's a great battle...

Re: Disney +
And that's my Disney+ subscription cancelled. Not something I'd planned to do as I use it a reasonable amount, but I've just had an email to inform me that my annual subscription fee is going up next month from £80 to £110 - a 37.5% increase with precisely nothing extra to show for it. They can get ...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
2024 is going to be a horrible election, almost certainly worse than 2016 and 2020. The recent stuff about Biden's memory is going to be jumped on and pounded into people's heads by his opposition, and it's going to work. The Democrats are going to have to come up with an answer for it, because at ...
