Re: Favourite Films

The Dark Crystal absolutely terrified me as a child. It's another one of my favourites though. For some reason, whenever I watch it the whole thing takes on almost a dreamlike quality rather than feeling like I'm watching a movie. Perhaps it's just an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. Labyrinth is ...

Re: Battlefield V October 2018.

Assuming the game is any good, I can't see our interest in it as a group dying out in less than a month.

Re: The H.P. Lovecraft Appreciation Society

That's a great idea.

Though lets not read The Curious Case of Charles Dexter Ward for a while, because I may have pinched a couple of phrases from it for a certain thread in another folder. ¬_¬

Re: The Excursions of Leidolf Griesen (I)

I've never read Lovecraft, I was more into Poe when I was exploring gothic literature (is Lovecraft even gothic? Not sure). I've often thought I might do so as it seems to be very 'in' now culturally speaking, Cthulu mythos et al. But after reading about his views I think I'll swerve it. I think I'...

Re: The Excursions of Leidolf Griesen (I)

I recall you saying in the old Lovecraft thread not long ago that you just couldn't separate the man from his works anymore. Whilst I can still take them simply as well written horror stories, I admit that it does make for quite uncomfortable reading at times where he describes dead African American...

Re: The Excursions of Leidolf Griesen (I)

Hunt Showdown, there's a thread in the PC Gaming folder. The setting is just too perfect and I figured it'd be an interesting challenge writing a let's play to a competitive multiplayer game.

Re: Battlefield V October 2018.

I'll try the beta and see how I feel about getting it on release.

If a few of us pick it up, it'd be great to finally get some easily organised forum games together again, especially now we're all in the same Discord channel so we've no excuse.

Re: Advanced Hero Quest [Session I]

It's a sort of "always rolling, whenever works for you" sort of affair. No need to sit down at your PC for it for a session. Then I'll be the odd one out and be a dwarf wizard (beards innit...) Assuming I'm not woefully late as per usual. And if I am, I'll enjoy watching you all flail about as is t...

My favourite film of all time is A Few Good Men, mostly because I'm a sucker for Aaron Sorkin's writing and this is his finest work.
Fantastic actor too.

Another controversy? I wasn't aware of this one and I'm not sure I want to Google it.

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion

That was the last decent game in the franchise before it went a bit too whacky. It still wasn't anywhere near as good as the second one mind you.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Likewise, I don't really have the time or patience to sink 60+ hours into a game anymore unless it really is intensely compelling. I tend to find that most RPGs don't have enough quality side content to really keep me entertained, so I either plough on just to finish the main quest or just give up e...
