Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey [PC, PS4, XBone] - October 5th
I have no idea where people are getting this idea of level grind from, someone over at Polygon had the same issue and I just can't understand it. I've been playing this for around 7 hours now and I'm currently at level 12 and have never had an issue finding things to do. There are constantly new pla...

Re: Pathfinder: Kingmaker - out now
Have to say that's a pretty terrible review. Comparing the game to a proper paper RPG with a DM is complete nonsense, of course it is going to feel limiting if you do that. You could do the exact same with the Baldurs Gate games and if you did you would also feel like they were terrible games, which...

Re: Harry Potter RPG
It's no more a generalisation than the one you are making. It's just an opinion, it's no less or more valid than the one you are making.

Re: Harry Potter RPG
You're right; it is extremely weird that people feel the need to pipe up with that. Why does that even matter? She's a good writer and she's created a massively popular fantasy franchise that appeals to all ages, particularly children. There are better writers who have not. It's a generalisation of...

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion
WSJ reporting that Nintendo will put out a hardware refresh for the Switch next year. Makes sense they would do something like this to give a boost to sales.

Yeah, she is analogous to someone like Enid Blyton in the way she inspired young readers.

Re: Witcher author sues CDPR
I disagree about it being all the skill of CDPR, it takes skill to create a world and part of the reason why the Witcher series is so good is because of the world. They did a good job realising it, but it was built on Saplowski's ideas. The first game after all was pretty ropey gameplay wise and it ...

Re: Harry Potter RPG
If someone is going to put JK Rowling up there with the titans of literature I don't think it's wrong to take exception to that. I'm not saying anyone here is doing that, but I've heard people do it.

Re: Witcher author sues CDPR
To a degree yeah it's his own fault, but at the same time it shows the awfulness of copyright. Nobody in their right mind would have taken percentages on sales when CDPR was starting out in the same way writers don't take points on a movie when it is being optioned for a script. The rules benefit th...

Re: Harry Potter RPG
If you don't like it you don't like it, but it's kind of snobbish to take exception with someone who sees quality where you don't. That's kinda how reviewing stuff works mate. I don't think it's snobbish, just a difference of opinion. When I say they are not great works of fiction I'm not saying th...

Re: Harry Potter RPG
They are fine books that are put on an pedestal on which they do not belong. There is much better writing out there and I don't begrudge their popularity, what I do take issue with is anyone who says they are great works of fiction. Popularity does not equal quality.

Re: Harry Potter RPG
Hard to see who the target market for this game is. Aside from the vast swathes of Harry Potter fans who are also gamers? I don't think they are the more dedicated type of gamer that this game looks like it is aiming for. It looks like a big budget game akin to a Star Wars game and I don't think th...

Re: Total War announcement 04.10.18
With their next proper Total War game due out early next year I think it's too early to announce another mainline TW game. It's more likely that it is the next game in their Total War Saga series.

Hard to see who the target market for this game is. Avalanche Studios are another developer who have been linked with it.

Re: Are they taking the piss !
I suppose you'd have to work as intimately within government "at the front line" to appreciate how much is wasted really DJ. Seriously it's disgraceful. I work in the Houses of Parliament mate, I'm aware that there is waste. Greatest of respect but that's not front line whatsoever unless you count ...
