Re: Game of the Year for 2020

Done :) I've actually played quite a lot of new stuff this year, which is unlike me, so actually had to leave some stuff off my list I enjoyed but not quite as much as my top 5 - notably Desperados 3, XCOM Chimera Squad, Monster Train and Parkasaurus. Also, I think the final question should read 202...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

Bugged or not, I think I'd prefer still to role-play and do quests in the manner in which they're given, more fun that way. I'm happy to just take my time and soak everything in, I've not even been to all parts of Watson yet. Meanwhile I'm getting better at the game mechanics... I still barely know ...

Yeah, really enjoyed that one.
Spoiler
And the ending! Not a huge surprise as I'd heard the rumours, but I still gawped like an idiot for a few seconds.
Just started watching. Really enjoyed episode 1, and the twist at the end :D

I'm not sure who Walker is, Sly, I've met so many people I can't possibly keep track anymore :) I'm doing same as you, and really enjoying this game. I rearranged my expectations back to reality versus the hype and am playing CP by ignoring the main arc in Act II for now and just doing the ridiculo...

Not wanting to wade through Walker's rhetoric, what's the gist of what he's saying?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

I've played pretty much the entire day and about 5% of that was advancing the story  I've had a lovely time just cruising the quadrant of the city I can currently access, taking on side gigs and tackling street crimes. It sounds like this is still the prologue judging by what others have said (...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Tom Waits is a pretty famous musician, and has acted in things here and there I think.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs Not quite what I was expecting, but very enjoyable nonetheless. The film is a compendium of 6 unrelated stories set on the American frontier, something that I'm not convinced lends itself to a film format, but it's extremely well directed and acted, and frequently beaut...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I was thinking that there was a trick to the fight, and we weren't going to be able to kill Morgur without destroying the phylactery. We knew that we couldn't touch it ourselves, a blast of chain lightning had no effect, and even my genius idea of smashing it with masonry didn't seem to do anything...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Does anyone think that every time we go into these situations with unfathomable evils, rather than learn from past experiences and come up with a sound plan, we actually come out progressively worse off every time? All I know is it wasn't an unfathomable evil that banished me to another plane of ex...

I'm actually disappointed the lich didn't take us up on the deal, though, I think it sounded pretty sweet
