Gaming/office chairs
Re: Gaming/office chairs
I have a feeling I've done some dye transfer got the classic version of this so I got a little blue on the white bit already. Has anyone dealt with this before? I've never had to but wanna look after this chair.
Re: Gaming/office chairs
Sorry mate mine is black so no such issues here. Look up products for getting similar stains from car seats - suspect Autoglym would make something usable.

Re: Gaming/office chairs
So after a week of mild but noticeable shoulder pain that I'm sure is down to my sitting position, and a fortuitously timed facebook advert for Secret Lab, I now have a Titan (in black softweave). At the moment I'm swapping between this and my old chair to use my flight sim gear, as the arm rests get in the way otherwise, and the difference is stark. I don't know whether my old chair (which wasn't cheap, it was between £150 and £200) was just badly designed or if it's the materials used having too much flex, but the back offers so little support compared to the Titan.
However the chair hasn't quite solved my muscle aches. I think what I need is a desk that I can also alter the height of, or alternatively get myself a foot stool (my rudder pedals sub for one at the moment, but they're not really at the right angle). There's a very specific height I can set the Titan to where my feet are flat on the floor but the tip of the chair isn't digging into the backs of my thighs. That height however is not really compatible with having my arm rests set correctly, and I think my elbows are slightly higher than they ought to be.

Re: Gaming/office chairs
A footstool makes a gigantic difference for me, well worth trying one. I ended up getting some rudder pedals for FS2020 and tried using them as a footstool for a while, but it made my back noticeably worse due to the difference in posture. It's easy enough to swap them round with a proper footstool when they're not in use.
For reference, I'm 5'11", also using a Titan.
In terms of the armrests, I have mine at the lowest setting which allows them to just fit under the desk, so my elbows naturally rest on them. I have a HOTAS setup and don't have any problems between that and the armrests, but I guess the desk height will be a major factor in that.

Re: Gaming/office chairs
My hotas mounts hang down from the desk for a much more natural height, that's why the arm rests get in the way. The base of the stick is a good 30cm below the desk level.
Re: Gaming/office chairs
Can I ask which footstool you went for Wrath?

Yep, it's this one:

Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

Re: Gaming/office chairs
Ta. I'll have a look at whether the angle of my rudder pedals can be adjusted to provide similar benefits (they're quite a decent set and I have a lot of control over their angle and height), as ideally I don't want to have to shift too much around to use my hotas. I suspect I'll likely end up with something like that though.
Re: Gaming/office chairs
We're going to need to see photos of these setups (especially any fancy HOTAS supports)

Jesus, the area under the desk really needs hoovering.
Re: Gaming/office chairs
My cable management is lacking.
Re: Gaming/office chairs
No it isn't... My under-desk area is a fucking minefield of cabling chaos and carnage!
