I love my super-wide monitor even though it's getting on a bit now, real game changer I found.Sly Boots wrote: βMon May 15, 2023 3:12 pmGot my own little treat through the post today, one of these:

PC building is great fun until something goes horribly wrong.ManBearSquid wrote: βMon May 15, 2023 9:27 pmI bought my first ever desktop PC back in 2021 and it was partially built for me, all that I'd ever done before yesterday was install a GPU and extra fans so I was chuffed with myself that everything went smoothly. I also enjoyed the tinkering which never used to be something I'd enjoy.
I had the same experience when I bought a 2080 (for a lot more) only for the 30 cards to rock up 3 months later!
Have you considered a super-wide screen Dave? They really are an immense step-change from a standard monitor and prices are much more affordable these days. Samsung have some nice ones (I have used Samsung kit for years and swear by it).
That would be me. I know how to build a PC, and always enjoy it when I am asked to help friends do so. When it came to my own though I put the support and warranty, as well as the convenience, at a premium.
