I'm guessing it's a single-use spell?

No...
My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

Cool-down period?

Or are we saying Crufts is now a viable tactic? :o

Is the breed of dog determined in the casting or by the recipient's personality? Sorry, I'm a little fascinated by the potential possibilities of the spell! And there are so many post-spell one-liner options...

You can now turn everyone you see into a dog, IF YOU SO DESIRE! You can turn Palace into Kennel!

However, each spell-cast requires a Wits test; a failure still means the spell still works, but the magician suffers a terrible HP-reducing headache.

Also, when the target turns into a dog, you roll a d6 to determine how many hours it happens for. If you roll a 1, the tablet shatters.

The breed is not stated, but from the stats (HP6, Bite d6) it's a far bigger, tougher, meaner dog than Jinx.

I actually think, reading carefully, that it might only turn the reader into a dog, rather than turning other people into a dog...

So someone has to voluntarily read it? Might explain why it was dumped in the shitter.

Could it be another option if you get downed (HP to 0), so you could turn into a dog with full HP and enter the fray again as such?

Or would you just be a dog bleeding out on the ground rather than a human bleeding out on the ground? :lol:

If you get killed as a human, you'll die as a human. If you turn into a dog and get killed, you'll die as a dog...until you turn back into a human again, and still be dead. ¬_¬

Ok, well, I'm not entirely sure what circumstances it would require for Doc to think it beneficial to assume canine form, but I'll keep it for now!

Just to clarify on the HP thing though, the dog has its own or is it tied to Doc's (which is 4hp max)? So if Doc was reduced to 1hp and became a dog, would it have 1hp or 6hp?

And were there any substances in the latrine he could craft something from?

The dog's HP is always 6, so if you're, say, wounded at 1 HP, had no healing supplies, didn't have time to rest, you could cast the spell and turn into a dog with 6 HP.

But then you wouldn't be able to carry your stuff around!

One thing you could do is force someone else to read it at gunpoint and they'd turn into a dog...

There's probably some crap in there you could fill your bottle with, then look for something else to mix it with!

Works for me, I'll tip 1 dose of laudanum in there as a mixer.

2d20 rolls... 6 and 18

All right, Doc, you've made something...

I've decided I need a better table than the one I made before. I'll get back to you with what you've made...
