When you nudge the bag, you hear the clink of silver coin inside.
All right, roll me a Grit test to see if you can stomach the water you find!

"Mighty strange for someone to leave a bag of coins in the middle of nowhere, for anyone to find," Doc says.
Can he examine the angel mural and see if it sparks any memory of what it might mean?

6+2 for grit.
Scrancher is just going to die in a ditch somewhere secluded away from the rest of the party isn't he.

You're hanging in there! You might need some meds, though. Good thing you've got a full bottle of laudanum on your person!
Yep! Do you want to gain an Ace or have a skill that allows you to better identify strange things?

Re: Scene VII: The Scorned Path (Scum on the Trail)
Considering yesterday we shot an old, naked man in the foot and watched him suffocate to death on a porcine sausage to teach him a lesson about entropy, I'm rapidly redefining what constitues as strange...

I think I'll take an ace this time, as it looks like I don't have any currently.Stormbringer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 9:03 amYou're hanging in there! You might need some meds, though. Good thing you've got a full bottle of laudanum on your person!

Any ever read The Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy? We're basically all characters from that novel. Ultra-violent, amoral and constantly filthy.

All right, Doc studies the angel mural and deduces that this not the work of a wandering artist, but a shrine of some strange cult. This angel is clearly the object of their veneration. The bag of silver must be an offering made to the angel, which might be one of thanks for a miracle wrought...or an appeasement, to avert or delay some divine punishment. Which one...you cannot say.
Be the strange you want to see in the world!
Now you're gettin' it, son!Animalmother wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 9:28 amAny ever read The Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy? We're basically all characters from that novel. Ultra-violent, amoral and constantly filthy.

Doc will relay that information to the rest of the group.
"Want my advice? Leave the coin, best case it's fine, worst case it's cursed or we piss off a god or somesuch. And with our luck, I know which I'd be putting my money on."

I'll peek inside the bag to get an idea of how much coin there is.

Cadaver Kid finds thirteen pieces of silver in the bag.
