The contents of the safe were $300 + a golden statue + a pewter statue + a whistle that doesn't seem to make a noise

The sheriff should claim the Loudmouth Gang was the ones who robbed the mayor and now they're all dead.

My backup plan was to see if I could trick the sheriff into getting eaten by the crocodile, but the murder of a lawman and the potential headache that could cause us may mean it's not worth the greater payday

CK is extremely not happy with this proposal - a bounty is a bounty and Boone is as corrupt as the rest. And the fact that I was stripped of my badge is still a sore point. But seeing the looks of acceptance from his companions, he’ll stand down.

The sheriff looks up and sees Cumflutter shout this from the doorway.


"Well, fancy seein' you here too, Cornelius Cumflutter III. As it happens we were just about to do just that."


The deputies dismount and take up the heads of the Loudmouth leaders and drop them in their saddle-bags, as well as the heads of the other Loudmouths you left lying near the well. This done, they re-mount.

I place a hand on my revolver.

“Is a pair of handcuffs worth $580 to you? Is your life?”

All three men sling hunting rifles off their shoulders, in readiness for action.

"Is that a threat, Pains?" says the Sheriff.

"Cause if it is...well..."

He glances over at the stable.

"...I think I could add another $210 to your own bounty for...spectacular arson...and maybe $140 for attempted murder."

He grins.

"When you wear the badge, you abide by it. I deem you unfit for service."

I draw both guns and shoot at the ground near the horses to startle them and hopefully dismount the sheriff and his cronies.

While that happens, Doc will dive for cover behind the well and open up at the sheriff with both revolvers.

Cumflutter let's out an exasperated sigh and fires at the nearest lawman.
